What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Just a little off topic question. Is it possible to dump PSX game textures and edit them like what Djipi has done?

Well I asked on ngemu, and so far I havn't gotten a solid answer, but all people are saying no. Honestly, I think it's possible, but the only thing is, someone just has to develop a plugin that can do it.

Damn I would love to redo some of those games

I know its not possible to redo PSX textures but I am not sure why. I think it has something to do with the system being a CD console. Too bad though, it would be great to get rid of those pixilated messes of textures.

Thnx for the response people aslong as Djipi hasnt ripped any textures hes ok then and he cant get done at all rite? Because this is just an amazing project and if its legal then its gunna be unstopable and djipi is going to have such a good reputation.

I don't see how it would be illegal. The textures used in the game aren't being distributed, none were ripped from other games and used, plus these are for personal use and has a non profit nature to it; So no money is being made.

Just use pete's texture filter. It makes the textures WAY better. Many textures look high-res with the filter (like character pictures in Chrono Cross). Try it.

Some games don't use textures. FFVII used VERY little textures (monsters were just smooth-shaded polygons with color).

Let's get back on topic here. If you want to talk about PSX emulation, then go to the respective forum to do so.

Does the creator of this project still not have his own internet? I guess I'm being a little impatient, but can anyone blame me? I can't wait for this to come out!

Even if we don't have Orkin's plugin, this game will definately be loads of fun to play with the new graphics.

Well, yes. Especially as your account was registered this month.
Others followed this project from the start and none of them are complaining. Djipi has no obligation to release this pack just because people are getting impatient. I'd actually prefer for the pack to be released in tandem with Orkin's plugin. And by the way, that could take weeks or months. I'd still wait for this if it took another year to be released.

Umm... No need to flame, guy. Settle down. I'm just excited about this. I wasn't flaming the creator for not having the internet was I? I was asking if he still didn't have it. That's all.

Geez. Some people just have a REALLY short fuse.

I would love to see a nice video of Djipi's pack at work with Orkin's Plugin to see what the effect is like. I mean, what I liked best about Wind Waker was that it looked so much better when moving around than when looking at still pictures. That happens in lots of games, but Wind Waker had that special feeling that made it look like a TV cartoon show and still letting you control all the aspects of the world.

Seing this pack's pictures, it looked to me as if in motion it's going to look a lot like that.

When this pack gets released, and Orkin's plugin as well (or maybe even without it) I'll try making a promotional video of it, kinda like the E3 videos for past Zelda games.

Can't wait for it! Good luck with everything, Djipi

There was no flaming present in his comments...There is a fine distinction between commenting and flaming.

He was merely restating the same thing that has been told to other people across this topic...

Nevertheless, it is justified to get tired of people asking for progress updates. Just try looking at the Chankast boards...Asking for updates is officially unacceptable there already.

Plus, you asked a question on a public message board, which implies you want a response; that would be regardless of whether it was rhetorical or not because it was not explicit.

Yes, we are all excited about these developments, however these are not on a consumer-type basis. Remember, people like you and me cannot get off our chairs (or rather, stay on them long enough) to start and finish a texture project on our own. Djipi is a human, but unlike us is devoted enough to have gone this far...any sort of "delay" (no such thing, really, but impatience distorts it into one) is going to be a by-product of being a human.

Look at it this way, if I PMed you that I wanted you to extract for me all the textures from Game X, would you really do it with me being a complete stranger? Or would you ignore or even flame back denouncing such a presumptuous request?
Same here, when being exigent over progress you are needlessly "taskmastering" over the ones that are revolutionizing N64 games. Even just asking if they "still have internet" implies that we are awaiting some sort of progress on this project (having internet means a release, etc). Therefore, it is not just asking whether he "just" has internet...it is the implied demand that comes with it.

Nevertheless, let us peacefully carry on in expectation...

Who was asking for progress dates? I wasn't. I'm worried about the creator the person not the project. I never asked about the project. I gave praise about the project, and then expressed my concerns for the creator.

Flaming is present. Not in words, but in tone. Settle down. Seriously. You people are way too uptight. Instead of jumping on people, you should pay more attention to their actual post.

Read your own post.
Now, back to business. I don't mean to lecture, but until Djipi and Orkin (and El Kameleon) update, it's basically like this - flaming, whining, and general trolling posts. If you're going to post at all, put a little thought into it.
