Yes, a good deal of the mods that frequent here (with the exception of Martin and and a few others) are very unprofessional and prone to tantrums. That is one reason why I dont frequent the board. I can understand, because you have people who come here, dont use the search function, and ask the same questions over and over, but still that is no excuse for completely callous. I say a bit less moderating is in order, and disagreeing with an admin is certainly NOT grounds for expulsion. That is simply childish, Trotterwatch.

Back to the topic, Obviously mods means well, but the fact is there that some admins are sometimes irresponsible, and Trotterwatch just happened to be a good example because he banned someone for a less-then-just cause a few replies ago. This forums is teeming with immature users and admins do have to step in when the rules are broken, there is no argument there. I'm simply stating my opinion that sometimes mods ban unjustly or act in a manner unfitting of a moderator.

No need to destroy a perfectly good thread about nothing with inteligence Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if they are wrong. Have I acted unjustfully? Probaly! Have people been banned for less-then-just cause? Probaly! Is this thread trivial? Definitely!

Life isn't fair, sometimes you win but let's face it. The odds are against us ;-)
I usually don't ban people, not because I don't want but because if someone else bans them before me I knew my hunch was right.

As for when 1964 is coming out, hopefully when Schibo and Rice feels that it's finished and they have contributed to the project to a point they feel they can let go. Rushing things usually isn't the answer.

and tirog almost literally asked to be banned (or band as he put it ), so i don't think the banning was unjust

No personal attacks please They could cause offence. Attacks on someones English ability do not aid intelligent conversation.

As for the criticsm, each to their own. I understand I can seem to be a bit strict - but the main reason is, I am around and about an awful lot. For the banning of Tirog I am 100% satisfied it was just, you disagree? Fine, that doesn't bother me one iota.

Let's try to get this thread back on topic...erm then again perhaps lock it?

seriously, anyone who can't take a little criticism is bound to deserve it the most.

personally i've long thought trotterwatch was one of the "good guys", but i agree that tirog being banned was probably over kill. i honestly think unless someone is spouting obscenities off-topic or gratuitous gay porn or racial slurs and they're doing one of these three in a non-humorous fashion, then they shouldn't get banned.

i mean, it's an emulator forum. it's not dinner with the in laws for the first time. i think everyone could lighten up a great deal. last i checked, emulation was solely for fun. i know of nobody making it into a commercial enterprise (though i've thought of several ways myself... ), and even then a little criticism and good hearted bandering, regardless of offense to anyone thin skinned enough to be a cry baby, is probably a good thing in some ways.

people are so whiney and insecure and touchy these days. it's like there's no reason to be a man and suck it up online, because you'll never really MEET any of these people.

I'll tell you what - should the admins, or other moderators deem the banning of Tirog as wrong, then they have my full 110% blessing to unban him. I won't feel wronged by the decision

Personally I believe I only gave him what he had asked for. Some disagree, and I can only restate that I believed it neccessary at the time, and still do.

I am a very reasonable person though, believe me - treat me well and I will treat you well. I don't bear grudges either.

Can I just add once again though, should anyone have a specific issue with me, could you please raise it in an adult manner through my Private Messages. Believe me, I will respond favourably, and in a kind manner.

One more thing - if I honestly believe I am in the wrong, I am not the sort of person who is too proud to apologise and admit that I got it wrong. I am a human being though, and as such can make errors of judgement/mistakes from time to time (I guess you could argue the same for some banned members ) :flowers:

I dont think Trots did wrong, to be honest Ive been offline because of ISP probs but if i was here i would have done the same.
