At your service, dood!
hmm.. someone said that graphics card doesn't affect the speed, well in my case, that isn't true, i used to have a voodoo 3 2000, the speed was utterly %!%&^, i mean, it droped like 25 frames a second on games...

Now that i have a geforce 2... the games stay at 60 frames a second easily, weird eh?

-----
my specs:
1.2 Ghz Amd Duron
256mb ram
Geforce 2 MX
SB live 5.1

Of course the graphics card affects the speed to some extent, a voodoo 3 2000 just can't keep up. However all in all the CPU affects the speed much more. And looking at your specs with a 1.2Ghz Duron you should be fine ;)

Just a note though.

The Geforce 4 MX cards are NOTHING like the normal Geforce 4 boards. They lack the pixel shader capabilities, and the only vertex shader stuff is through a software driver emulation. It's more like a Geforce2. It should be listed separately.

Well, the Backstreet Boys are pretty much like Nsync, but theyre still the Backstreet Boys:D

I just put in a 64mb Radeon 7500, big improvement over my old 8mb rage 3d :)

Now, if I can only decide on a new monitor. Hmm... flat screen crt, or flat panel....

i put a geforce 3 ti200 in place of a tnt2 ultra. There is a noticeable difference in speed and the overall look of pj64, but not a huge difference.

Since I last voted on this poll I have replaced my GF2 MX with a GF3 Ti200.

Frame rates were unaffected (ie still 60fps constant) although I can now enable Antialiasing without any performance hits whatsoever.

If I'm going to get a new video card, which one should I get for Pj64?

If I'm getting a new one, I would get a Radeon 2 (8500), or Geforce 3 tixxxx, which one should I go for as far as working with PJ64?

actually the card does make a differnce. i just tried a gforce3 ti200 card out and the fps jumped about 25 from my old 32mbtnt2 card. the gforce card isnt mine, so now i have to buy one, what is a good video card, i dont want a radeon card, pny makes one and so does xtasy. any suggestions ?

Why don't you want a radeon? From what I have heard it is the best graphics chipset out there.

One reason I would never buy an ATI card - Drivers.

They have show time and time again they can't write drivers. Whilst Nvidias drivers may not be perfect, they are without doubt more reliable than their ATI equivalents.
