microsofts specs are better alround, no doubt. i think the geforce3 kinda kicks the gekko's arse (not totally, though). but each of the consoles do work differently and run on different processors. so u cant really say that becos this console has more mhz, it must hav better specs. it doesnt work like that.

hell, if everything is going the way nintendo plans GC will become standardized. if everything is going the way Sony plans PS2 will become standardized. hardware has nothing to do with it.

The "gekko" is the main processor which is the powerpc processor made by IBM for the game cube, not the graphics processor. The graphics processor for the Game Cube is called the Flipper.

OK, this makes sense. The Hz ratings of the two systems add up to approx the xbox Hz. But as you said this does not mean the performance it better.

Now you say that the hardware is better? If the hardware is better then how come it doesn't perform better than a GC?

Since you are confusing everyone on this board, just answer this question with a yes or a no. Do you think that the reason the xbox is not performing better than the PS2 and GC is because the developers haven't learned to push the hardware yet? Because that's what I think you're trying to get at.

Of the next-gen consoles the X-Box is the most powerful, by a slight margin. It's lacking good games tho. Only good games are by Sega imo.

u cant really say that though as Sega have only just got into the multi-format software market. u never know, sega might hav a great impact on the xbox sales (particularly in japan)...i may hav mis understood u though :/

Sega games couldn't help shift the Dreamcast or the Saturn, and they're not shifting the X-Box in the US. Halo is doing that.

absolutely right blizz, right now sega games are appealing to a pretty niche market outside japan. They make quality games but to be honest, what was the last truly big seller sega had outside japan?
