Zelda OOT Texture issues

Hello,
I am posting in this forum because there seem to be several answers to those using 1964, but I can't find any for P64.

I was trying the Celda texture mod (which works wonderfully, and is beautiful) but in order for me to do that, I had to switch to Mudlord's Rice Video Build (or so said the instructions, anyway).

Problem is, once I switched to that, when I would hit start, the last viewed texture background would be the background (rather than the "snapshot" of the current screen for a background) and when I look at the equipment part, Link's model is nothing more than garble (and a hylian shield).

The background SHOULD be outside in the Kokiri village, but it's Link's house.

Specs: 2.8gHz P4 Dual, Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB, 2GB DDR2 RAM.

I am using OpenGL because DirectX was having all kinds of issues with blips and stuff using the Celda textures, it was just ugly. DX was having the same error I described, anyway.

Thanks for any help.

EDIT:

Update - Haven't really solved it. I did switch to DirectX and try the suggested "solution" but it really doesn't seem to be one. I can make it take a snapshot for the background properly (albeit a very lousy snapshot), but every time I go into the menu, I still get that huge lag and sound blips.

And Link isn't garbled anymore but his shield is displayed backwards, and his quality is horrendous. Isn't he supposed to be moving in the menu when you put his gear on? Or at least it should look clearer, it's horribly blurry.

Anyway, still open to better suggestions. It's not a huge deal, the biggest problem is the huge lag I get going into the menu.

No, Link is meant to be stationary. And it should look clearer.

The reason it doesnt is that the plugin currently does not support hardware framebuffer emulation, which is needed for fast and hi resolution framebuffer rendering. It will take a huge amount of work to rewrite the framebuffer code in the plugin to support this.

Is it still being worked on? Should I keep checking for updates? It's no big deal to me, I just like to know if there's anything I can do about it. If not, I'll wait.

I'm still developing the plugin, in fact, I made a release today.

But, to fix the framebuffer issues, will involve a complete rewrite of how framebuffers are handled. Which will be a super tedious task, due to how framebuffers are implemented currently.

As a consolation though, Glide64 supports hires textures now for Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and it also supports HWFBE, so those slowdown issues are a thing of the past, IF your video card can handle the plugin's Glide3x wrapper....

Well I posted my specs above, and I imagine I'd be okay. So this is only available in your newest release? Does everything look as good? Or better? Any problems I'd notice?

I will have to give it a try later, thanks for the continued work.
