Zelda: Masterquest Graphics Glitch & FPS problem

Hello, I'm experiencing problems with a few graphics in Zelda. For the most part, the game plays exceptionally well. Infact, the graphic problem is considerably minor.

However, the error in the graphics is the fact that the switches you step on just happen to be invisible. It's making it really difficult to get through the deku tree due to the fact that I just sorta have to pray and walk in random places to find them. The same thing happens in OoT, so I don't think it's the rom that's the problem. Also if I'm at just the right angle (I think slightly below the switch) it will show up, but that's just an absolute pain in the neck. Also the box you have to push into the water does the same thing, but it's less "glitchy" then the switch (But I think that's because the camera doesn't go above the box that often).

What I have tried is fidling with the graphic controls, but the switch wouldn't even show up in wireframe resteration which I thought very odd. I also tried switching plugins, but both plugins I've tried failed to work (rice64 & direct64). No one else seems to have this problem so...I posted.

My second issue with Zelda is the fact that the frame limiter limits the game to 50fps when I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be 60fps. It's not that my computer can't handle it because when I take of the frame limiter, for the most part it's in the eighties. Once in a while it dips to fifty in certain parts, but that I can live with because the n64 did that itself sometimes.

My comp specs are as follows:

Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2.0Ghz
192 megs of Ram
Windows XP

Video Card: Sis 651 00 (memory: 64megs)

The video card is internal, but again, the game runs fine except for the one glitch And I've run Mario64 without a single hitch (except for some sortof dissolve effect which I'm not entirely aware of, but that's what the project64 explorer says).

Edit: Epona is missing some of her legs in the intro, forgot about that. But I'm not sure if that's relevant and I could care less about her legs.

What graphics plugin are you using? I'd say that the SiS chip is the root of your problems.

I'm probably thinking that two but it's a built in chip so I have to deal with it. Anyways, I'm using Jabo D38 but I switched back to Jabod36 and the same problem occured. And I'm happy to report that I just found a the next switch. I wonder what one I'll have t hunt for next. :grumble:

Edit: Anything you'd recomend? is their a driver out that I haven't tried that I should?

Ok...so maybe it's more then just a little glitch or two, here are some screen shots that have my problem written all over it I guess.

Sorry their zipped but the server wouldn't let me upload bitmaps and I don't have a Jpeg converter. Anyhoo, here are what all the pictures are.

z1: seems to be a perfectly emulated Hyrule castle.
z2: as I approached the castle, it started to disappear, starting with the side I was closest on.
z3: Ok, pretty much the entire castle is gone.
z4: Just a daytime shot of it to show I can even see the water behind the castle.
z5: recognize this room? probably not, but it's the room where you break a lot of pots just after the draw bridge.

So with this new information, can anybody help me, or is my video chip just screwing me over.

Thnx in advance for the help

umm...could I get a more user friendly answer please, I'm not noob persay, but just beyond it. If I THINK I knwo what your saying, your telling me to go out and buy a completely different video card, but again, it's built right into the motherboard. It also means that there is no other ports to put another card.

I have the distinct feeling that that's not what your saying though.

there should be expansion slots in your pc for that purpose you can get another gfx card. having gfx on the motherboard means nothing it's just onboard chip for gfx. :bouncy: :bouncy:

So you're saying that your computer hasn't got an AGP slot, or any other expansion slots? I find that hard to believe, unless you have a laptop.
