Zelda Majora's mask. No textures

First off here are my specs.

Intel Celeron 697 MHz
384 Megs of Ram
Intel 82810 Graphics Controler  (Why do computers come with this?)
Windows XP Home
DirectX 8.1

Most of the time Majora's mask runs at 19 fps with only minor graphical errors. In certain areas of the game all textures dissapear and everything is white/light blue/light green. I noticed this happened when near the the south gate of clock town coming from the swamp. The problem got much worse when I entered Snowhead temple. Almost all of the rooms have no textures and Link is white. I tried changing all the settings and there is no change. Is there anyway I can fix this?

I'm running Project 64 1.5 beta
The settings that run best are:
Jabo's Direct3D6 1.40
Jabo's DirectSound 1.40
N-Rage`s Direct-Input8 1.61
Direct3D HAL
Window 320x240
16 bpp Texture only
Everything checked in Emulation (only change blending mode does anything that I notice)
Everything off in Advanced.

I used to get that too with the Intel 82810 Graphics Controler. The best thing to do right now is to get a new graphics card.

Unfortunatley getting a new graphics card is not possible and I could buy the real game and the Memory expansion for that much.

I recently tried using the newest Daledus plugin and it rendered Link correctly but everything else was off color. Are there any plugins or configurations I could try?

maybe you could try the tr64 opengl plugin. I haven't used that plugin with the graphics controller yet. I used to use older versions of jabo's video plugin and that some parts are rendered better with the 1.1-1.3 video plugin instead of the 1.4.

I just tried the tr64 opengl plugin and I get an error that says the plugin is invaled and then PG64 crashes D'oh. Where can I get older versions of jabo's video plugin?

Download the latist Drivers first of all, That will fix most of your problems only there will be a transparency problem if you upgrade... it can be fixed by turning on Force Normal Blending but, it is up to you...

So Co.s can Fuck you over by installing a Onboard GFX Card (AKA: Intel Chipshit) That saves the company a whole money & makes them so cheap.... (Yes, i fell for it about 3 years ago and thats why i have my peice of shit...) Same thing with Onboard Sound... So Next time, Make sure whats in the comp first, I know this by experince...

I have the latest drivers from the Intel site. I can't tell if Force Normal Blending did anything. It's strange, once I enter the room everything has texture for a fraction of a second and then it gets bad.

I remember that I was so happy when I bought my computer two years ago. It was my first major purchase but then I quickly realized the horors of owning an HP Pavilion. I think I formated my hard drive 5 times since then. My next computer is going to be one that I build.

I don't think I'd get too much if anything for this machine. The sad part is that I've spent about $1,000 on it, buying it and adding software and memory. The freaken thing only came with 64 megs of ram! I wish I then what I now know about computers.

BTW what kind of setup is required to play Majora's mask so that it runs as good as a real N64?

Only a small area at the left of the entrance of South gate of Clock Town has this problem, the area is so small so it's funny.

See the attachment, the window at right is captured after I moved Link a bit away the gate. Also, if I move Link just a bit to the right (according the entrance), the problem can also disappear.

For this time, I used:
Project 64 1.5 beta 1
Jabo's Direct3D7 1.40
Jabo's DirectSound 1.40
Jabo's DirectInput7 1.40
Direct3D HAL
Window Size: 320x240

Windows XP Professional
Pentium III 800EB
128 MB 133Mhz SD RAM
i810E for video :(

OK here's what to do Buy/beg/steal/borrow a voodoo gfx card (v2 are about $10 second hand) and wait patiently for dave2001's glide 0.2 plugin which will KILL jabo'sd3d on your card(810's SUCK - I switch mine off!)

Is the voodoo gfx card better than the intel 810 one? It does sound too bad for $10. I just don't want to downgrade. Any idea when dave2001's glide 0.2 plugin will come out?

Is there any reason why the gfx problem goes away and comes back.

I finaly fixed my problems by formating when I installed XP. Earlier I used the HP recovery disks that only caused problems and led to more reformats. So my suggestion is to format without using the CD's if you've been doing that.

The Other Village Idiot
The only GFX cards I'd use are the NVidias (mainly TNT2 and GF2/3), new Radeons, and Voodoo 4/5...

WHY do people never look at the specs on commercially built computers... just look around and see if what they want to buy is a piece of junk!

That said, I just though of something. Suppose you took a Voodoo2 pass-thru and hooked it up to a GF3? that would rock, use any GFX plugin you want! :D :bunny: :colgate: :)

HELL YES. IT'S ME!
voodoo and gf??? are you kidding?

anyway i rememberl having this problem with all games (pc games as well) when i had an old sis graphics card. the problem was i didnt have enough onboard ram for the graphics card to store all of the textures so a lot of them were just not there and everything was white. if this is your problem then you wont get rid of it without getting a new graphics card
