The next week they sold a bit over 3000, while the PS2 sold over 7000. And they were also expecting to sell between 20,000-30,000 in the first week, so less than 10k is pretty crap.

Just to enlighted you up:
In a magazine about tv-games and stuff, they made a vote for all the users. The poll was: "How many of you have decided to buy an X-Box or not?"
Do you know what they answered? It's pretty funny:
15%: Don't know.
15%: Yes.
70%: No!!!
And why did they say no? 'Cuz it was MS! :satisfied

i still think it will sell well eventually. dunno whym but i dont reckon its gonna flop like the 3d0 or Jaguar did as it does hav some quality games, plus some further quality games on the way. and it has graphics that really do kick arse.
Very true, I talked to a friend in the vendor buisness the other day about the X-Box. They are forced to keep them as low as possible, they only add a couple of procents due to the already high price. It costs +450 US dollars in Sweden and at the shop my freind works for they have only solded #2 units since the launch, compared to maybe 5 PS2 units during the same time intervall... Both consoles are expensive in Sweden but there is still a 190 US dollar gap between them, not sure if that is the exact figure but it's along those lines... The posibility of them not becoming the kings of the console industry amuses me, the X-Box won't flop but it won't conquer the industry...

The Jag` had/has some superb games. Doom, AVP, that robot game whose name I forget, Syndicate, and of course the incredibly addictive Tempest 2000. Er, which I`m playing right now as it happens (Damn eBay and its money-wasting potential!).. well, not while typing this obviously...sk8bloke22 said:

under an emu yes, although the cpu is widely documented the graphics chip is significantly different to warrent an emulator, there is also the modified hd etc... it's effectively a significantly modified PC

haha, it had like over 20 buttons. i never understood that. its weird in london electronique boutiques they r on sale for like £25 and games like a £10 each.

Its seems that the only place that the Xbox is selling well is the US. That's probably enough for M$ to call it a 'success'. It will not go away for a long time anyway, even if no one buys it. M$ have enough money to keep trying at this. The Xbox can completely bomb, this gen and following gens, but it will still be there because M$ have the money to support it.
