Why does windowed work in MM?

Hi, i'm using Project 64 1.6 with Jabo's Direct3D 1.6 to play Majora's Mask. It all works perfectly in windowed mode, even at my desktop resolution (1024 x 768), including the transition effects to new days and the blur on the scarecrow song.

However, when full screen the game crawls to a halt. I understand this is a known fault, but I did not believe that a remedy to it was running in windowed mode, which to my mind is more intensive and should perform worse.

Does anyone have any suggestions? It's no biggie, but I want to play full screen.

Also, while I'm here, I read that there's a Majora's Mask texture pack, but it seems incomplete. Is it worth using?

Thanks for the advice,

MMKF

Fullscreen to Crapscreen Overnight!

The same thing happen to me. Yesterday, i was playing castlevania 64 while listening to my radio station online and in fullscreen. It even work afterward when i play Smash bros. (took me long enough to get luigi with the stupid keyboard)

But today, 08:02 in the morning... I coudn't. And it was the only aplication running. It took me a 30min to completly search the FAQ than a another 30min to TOTALY remove and reinstall everything (NO!!!! LUIGI!!!WHY!!!!!!) but still doesn't work. Even in basic (or default setting).

Update:
Finally, it work.... right after it load M.M.
Funny isn't it?

No suggestions on how to get Full Screen mode working as well as windowed mode? I hate having to hide the taskbar every time I load the game!

hmmm... Just an idea, but have you got any performance/quality settings on a demanding setting in your graphics card drivers? Perhaps when you switch to full-screen you are also turning on high AA settings and the like.

if you are running nvidia drivers, make sure your "default driver settings" are set to "application controlled", also make sure that you do not have a PJ64 profile active.

Then fiddle with your graphics plugin settings (in project64) and make sure full screen mode settings are not too high - turn off AA for a start.

Just a thought, might be wrong.
