I am new to texture modding, and I have to say that I find the process very therapeutic and rewarding.
I was hoping that someone could explain how I can generate smooth edges on textures that have transparency. For example in Kirby 64 I have tried to make a decent looking crayon at the stage select screen. I have used gimp to give the edge a smooth transition between the edge of the crayon and the transparency. For some reason the when I load the texture it always has a hard edge. This texture is also been rotated by the game so the edges look really rough.
Is there something I am doing wrong here? Am I missing a step?
I would appreciate any support you can give.
Thanks in advance.
