:) Hej, I didnt say anything. Lets drop the subject, this is getting way beyond what I think is a normal discussion. Sorry Alpha, I agree with the other fellows in this thread that it doesnt make sense discussing with you any further.

Maybe in another thread then.

Its on www.spiegel.de . I dont know whether you know german though. You can find the article there.

I dont think France will leave the permanent security council. Before that happens, the whole council will be disolved. But maybe thats what the US wants.

I wonder y no one is backing canada or germany for the permanent security council position...

In spite of their opposition to the war, I don't see why not. France accused the US of being after the oil, yet France doesn't want the UN resolutions to be lifted, because if they are lifted, it can't secure it's own oil interests.

Germany and Canada have made no such actions.

Who's the next terrorist group the US are planning to take out in the war on terror? Hopefully it will be the US FUNDED IRA.

Hell yeah, its about time those god damn irish sob terrorist funders were dragged over here by their nuts for trial. It would be nice if Bush turned around and decided to put some people on finding who the funders are, then sending them over here.

/me gets a baseball bat in case it happens :satisfied

I was originally vehemently against the war..however, seeing how the Iraqi people were actually celebrating after the overthrow of the dictatorship, I kinda am now 50-50, I mean ultimately, its the people of Iraq who suffered from saddam's rule, it's all very well for us to sit back comfortably in our armchairs and keep stressing on the fact that the Iraq war is bad, its immoral or whatever...

However, I still disapprove when I c pictures of civilian casualities, hence you could say that I don't really have an opinion at this juncture:D

I think its Syria:(

Btw just wondering, how do you get the "Quote originally posted by XXX"?

France has called for the lifting of UN sanctions:)

Nonono, bush called for lifting the UN sanctions, in other words, to allow iraq to trade freely with anybody as they see fit. France doesn't want that to happen. France is calling for the suspension of the sanctions, theres a huge difference.

(of many articles that say the same thing)

I like the irony here. Before the war, france insisted that iraq had no weapons, now france is saying "oh wait, they do have weapons, lets keep the sanctions active until we make sure their weapons are gone"

Chirac has always said (at least on french TV) that Iraq had weapons. But he believed that a war wouldn't solve this problem (ie: the weapons are still there for a new governement). So it was if US want to destroy weapons war wasn't the best solution, if they want to do something else, maybe it is, but as what has always been discussed in UN resolution is only massive destruction weapons, french governement were saying it wasn't the best solution...

Now i believe that US people have only seen the opinion of the curent governement's oponents (communists and a form of moderated socialists) in their media. They are always saying crap. They were strongly against any war while chirac was saying that it's possibly needed. Openents were also saying France has to put his veto while Chirac didn't want to say anything about it (if he said he will put it, there was no need for UN discussion and if he said he will not put it, he wasn't suporting at all his opinion).

I'm not interpreting here, it's strictly what has always been said by actual governement, now there's many people in France who have absolutely no power but are always talking about things they have no clue..

Well, either way, right now iraq is under the supervision of the coalition, I can't see any reason why they would perceive iraq as a threat at this point. Iraq is no longer being viewed as a rogue state, likewise trade should be opened. Whether the trade is restricted or entirely open, I see no reason why it would promote the use of WMDs at this point.

If France wants to truely help here, why don't they just forgive all of iraqs debts and then stay out of it? I mean honestly, why can't they? Why do they have to insist on maintaining control of iraqs trade? The coalition is dumping money into rebuilding iraq, yet france, who had no involvement in the war, wants to milk more from iraq. Even if to the victor goes the spoils, france certainly was not the victor.

Many countries will help rebuilding iraq and they are not necessarily part of the coallition... France like many other countries has offered help, i hear people in US saying we shouldn't, i'm unsure myself we should, anyway it's up to Bush's governement now to accept or not, they have still not said an official word, there's no need to argue about it... Anyway i do not care how it'll evolve, i'm just hoping they'll find a trustable new governments for Irak coz it seems hard for now.. I may be wrong but Irakis seems to reject all people bring by US...

Whatever, in my previous post, i didn't want to discuss about hypothetical future situations, i just wanted to point out clearly false common ideas..

If other countries are willing to help rebuild you have to be stupid to turn them down. If all the world countries help rebuild Iraq it will help turn the world opinion of American if all the most powerful countries lend a hand.Of course than chimp Bush wont quite understand ;)

Now come on, you don't honestly believe that. You know as well as I do that they aren't trying to help just to help.

The FOX news offices in New York City were the frequent site of war protests during the last 6 months. The following is a sample of the electronic crawls (big LED sign on the front of their building) that the Fox News Network ran outside of their New York headquarters during these anti-war protests.

1. "Does anyone here have a job?"
2. "The cleverest sign wins a week's free vacation in Baghdad"
3. "CNN Agrees with you. They're two blocks west, and they have doughnuts!
4. "Who won your freedom to protest...Protesters, Actors or Soldiers?"
5. "War Protesters Audition Here Today...Thank You For Coming. Try to Look Scruffy"
6. "Attention Protestors: The Michael Moore Fan Club Meets on Thursdays at The Phone Booth On 6th and 50th"
7. "Yell As Loud As You Want; We're still Not Hiring Phil Donahue"

Well, from what I have heard on the news the US has recently asked Canada to join in the Rebuilding efforts... Should expect Canada to reply this week
