Terrible framerate in Metroid Prime (High end system)

Hey, so it's 2008 now and ive had an urge to play through prime again, as of recently i bought a brand new computer and thought i could crank out a lot of extra eye candy by playing it on the pc, so after installing the latest version of dolphin and booting up metroid prime just to see that i'm stuck with a miserable 5-10 fps! =(

System specs:
3,2 Ghz AMD 64 Dual core
4 Gigs of 800mhz DDR3 RAM
Two Sapphire HD3870 in crossfire (Could this cause a problem?)

Now the game was released in 2002 and thats quite a long while ago, and this computer is pretty high end so im pretty sure i can cross lack of hardware-power off the list, so now i turn to the more knowledgable people here for answers, could it be the configuration? mind you i have monkeyed around quite a bit with the settings but found it to run "best" with the default ones.

I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate SP1 which obviously boasts directx 10.1, my graphic card driver is at 8.47 which is the latest (stable) driver.

Maybe its just the game that doesnt work well with the emulator? im completely aware that emulators are very far from equal to the real deal but i was hoping that i could brute-force that and even improve the graphics by playing on the pc, but i don't know!

If you have any clue as to any improvements then please share! =)

what is this the 100 millionth time someone has asked this question?

well, heres your answer.

gamecube emulation isnt truly at playable speeds yet.

5-10 fps is normal

if you want to play metroid go buy a gamecube.

You ARE using the x64 + dual core beta version, right?

If not: http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=41879

Hey, i downloaded the first version i tried from some other site and apparantly that was the "latest" obviously not, although it said 1.03 beta but anyway!

So i tried the beta3 one first and it i still bopped around at 5-10 fps, but when i tried the beta2 one and used the dualcore exe it just spat out these messages,

"Error Unknown Opcode (0x56)" and "Error Unknown Opcode (0x3)" If i switch to software rendering it just says "Direct3D Device Creation Failed" =/

I just noticed the compatibility list and metroid prime apparantly shouldn't work, so i guess i'll have to outstand the "horrible" graphics on tv now =) Thanks anyway!

Even if Metroid Prime ran at a good frame rate you'd be missing most (if not all) of the sound.

Also, I'm not sure if it's default yet but if you want fast speeds you need to use the Dynamic Recompiler
