What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

Well, I'm wanting too retexture OoT, But I'm having some difficulties! I've made 2 folders in my plugin folder under Project64, but I'm not entirely sure if I did it right, so here's an image.
oh1lj8.png

I've set up Rice's Video Plugin The most up too date version, and I've unchecked the hide advanced options ect. But Whenever I dump the files it says it's dumping them but they don't go too the files- or my computer at all, I use windows Vista so could that be a problem? Please help me if you can! Thank you!

Hmmm not sure with Vista, however you shouldn't need to make ANY directories save the hirez texture one.

I suggest you check for events that indicate Vista is preventing things from happening. You should ALWAYS check your system events list when directories aren't appearing etc. It will give you a nice list in the error event log. Are you logged in as Administrator? You will have to log out of your user account and log in as Administrator likely to view them. It will annoy you regularly if you do this (IE be in the Administrator account, it's a feature really it is :) ).

Dumping should be under "<emulator root>/Plugin/texture_dump/<GAME NAME>/...".

Vista may be locking file access for example to the DLL as it may consider this 'bad' behavior. Does the plugin otherwise work under Vista? That's interesting if it does.

Remember these programs were never ment to run under Vista, they are win32 apps. Even if you are running Vista 32 .. things will NOT work the same or as expected. You may need to do a lot of setting changes to run emulators under Vista. I'm amazed it any of it works at all under Vista.

Alright, I was able to dump it but it didn't go to Texture_dump! It said it dumped it but there's nothing in the folders! : (

Again CHECK your SYSTEM events list.

Also do a search for *.png with the NAME id of the ROM
"<IDNAME>*.png" in your system search. They are likely either somewhere or were disallowed to be dumped. They might be in your user directory or some such. As I said Vista is a completely different animal. It shouldn't work or if it does I'm not sure how. Vista removes numerous things fro mthe average user. DO SOME LOOKING in other words. If they are anywhere it's probably not where you are expecting them.

Heck even a general search for *.png files might be good. You need to do a lot of looking.
