well it is a walkaround and not a fix so it isn't really worth doing anything about(what do you expect smiff to do? write all the workaround in the notes?:D)

no i expect smiff to put them in the gameFAQ and use the notes to refer people there. BTW Ogy nice work on Gauntlet Legends, i will get around to that (Zilmar referred me to that actually hehe so he noticed) but in future could you post your breakthroughs in this thread! ;) :)

i see ur point now...but smiff has pretty long notes. look at the ones for MoM:D. maybe he could mention ur workaround in his pj64 subdomain (or whatever he called it). i guess the important thing i wanted is its status changed from "Partial/Intro"
to something better...like "Requires Elaborate Workaround" :)

actually he could just put something like "use Zilmar's CFB at light".

thx smiff, will do that, i'm just always afraid to make a fool out of myself because my system is so rickety so almost anything can happen with it:)

small point, on front page Martin says RDB makes game fully playable, when what it really does is (hopefully) allow anyone (who follows the instructions) now to fully play the game... LaC and Zilmar take credit there (and Jabo whose never had an issue here he's so gooooood ;)), however I have set the game up correctly for you I think, this all needs testing.

Are you sure that Knife Edge and Razor Freestyle Scooter have non correct text, i.e scrambeld, missing letters... I have played through both games, (U) versions only, and the text is clear and visible at all points. And what is Framebuffer:windows(?) supposed to do in Rally' 99 (J) [!] and Rally Challenge (U) [!]... I can see no visual difference...

Uhh, small mistake by me there. Forgive me, it was late. :D

Will correct... :)

just a few problems with all newer rdb's:

- with F-zero in windows mode i get 60 fps, whereas in full screen mode it drop dramatically at 30-35 fps ( 60 fps in full screen with rdb standard)

- forcing transparencies in all games make weird things happen , for example RR4 ( tranparent mountains)

- generally, all games run slower, maybe for compatibility target

- Mario Tennis and RR64: 20 fps in window mode, 60 fps in fullscreen ( 60fps always with standard rdb)

- CBFD freeze at "for mature audiences only" screen

- Sin and Punishment : graphics messed up ( sprites duplicates, like Resident Evil)

I have met many other problems with these rdb's, but i think these are enough to check them out at the moment

At least, DK64 works without cheating from the start, if a tad slower than my customized rdb version.....

p.s. Allnatural has been very handy in solving many problems in the past with this emu, thanks again to him and everyone involved.

my specs are:

Athlon xp 1700, radeon 8500 64mb with latest drivers, win xp prof.

I havent touched Fzero, except to change SMCM for J vers to prevent crash.... you are wrong here.

You mean Normal Blending, yeah it's meant to do that, thats why its off by default, what's it got to do with the RDB anyway?

I don't have any global controls... you are wrong here.
- Mario Tennis and RR64: 20 fps in window mode, 60 fps in fullscreen ( 60fps always with standard rdb)
Again, it's nothing to do with the RDB.. there is nothing I could set that effects fullscreen and not windowed.
- CBFD freeze at "for mature audiences only" screen
Think this is another game that I haven't touched.
- Sin and Punishment : graphics messed up ( sprites duplicates, like Resident Evil)
I've corrected a core loop [smcm], haven't changed graphics.

Basically you've gone and messed up something somewhere in your system... put the original RDB back, see it won't help.

Hey Smiff, I noticed the GameFAQ has a listing for XG2. You mention a workaround for the HUD but forgot to mention what the workaround is.:p

Maybe you were more worried about other things.:)

Anyway, if you don't remember:

LINEAR for the player name to "fix" the HUD (thanks EdgeBlade), and to unlock the game so that all the tracks can be played I found the password: 6D3HXM6F45SQ to work fine.:)

Yes, it's right. However, just so you know, the code I provided: 6D3HXM6F45SQ will unlock the bikes and tracks.;)
