The fact is that just about everyone has "pirated" something, whether it's downloading an MP3, Xeroxing a copywrited document, downloading a PacMan rom, etc. So it's hypocritical for me to say that it's bad... I just said that it's too easy these days and it keeps getting easier. Imagine if all stores were on the "honor system" and there were no employees no cameras, just a jar at the counter that you were supposed to put the money in. There will always be shoplifters and piraters, but in the latter case, there needs to be better protections. It used to be a "fringe" crime that's gotten pushed into the acceptable mainstream.

I can understand what you're saying.
Anyone with an internet connection can easily get hold of it all.
About 3 years ago I used to sell loads and loads of pirated albums and games at school, because no one had a clue how to aquire such things.
But now I think 90% of people can get their own stuff.
It is too easy, as you say but no one seems to be doing much about it.
I have a PC game collection approaching, if not in triple figures, and about 100 Dreamcast games.
But yeah, pirating does seem to be mainstream nowadays.

Yeah yeah piracy etc

The only people who seem to be getting really hurt by piracy bigtime are the retailers. But there again the wholesalers and distributors of movies (and games) are all bastards and always have been. Anyway who reckons piracy doesn;t damage anyone should come work here for a while. See it from the retailer's point of view, the real damage isn't the casual pirate (who probably wouldn't have bought it if he/she couldn't have copied it) but the people who sell copies of things, that's the big problem. I've always had this attitude, since the early days of Commodore 64. Copying stuff is one thing but selling copies.........

I prey, not pray.
I think the main problem with games prices is the medium that they put it on. I mean for example, if you go to blockbuster and get an xbox game, and put it on your xboxs' hard disk, then they charge you a bunch more money if you don't give them the plastic disc back.
