What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

Holy crap, this is freakin awesome! With some of the other hi res texture packs, someone that hasn't played Mario 64 much, or in a long time and doesn't remember exactly how it looked, might not even know there is a change. With this texture pack, however, I don't care how long it's been since you played mario, you'll definitely notice this huge change!

Please don't lose interest in it, I really want to see this completed! :)

Attention, please.

If you've been wondering if the project is dead, well, it isn't, so have faith. I'm here to announce that the project is still alive and I'm just waiting for better work conditions (better Rice releases, better tools, etc).

It'll be delayed, yes, but I won't let this die.

Its a Setup-program compiler., you can compress all files into an self-installing EXE file. You can set where the files will be installed, for ex "program directory\1964\099\plugins\hires_textures\xx" etc

Install it and try the wizard, and you will understand..

EDIT: and it will install a automatic uninstaller too.

This is just an alpha release, so you'll only see hi-res textures outside of the castle only.

Jale, I am in the process of making my own project and was wondering how you went about in making your tree textures. I tried myself but whenever I did them they never came out right. If you used photoshop or some other editing program, can you explain how you sliced your tree in half and what you did so you got the tree to come out well?

Jale,
I hope you dont mind, but i used you texture pack as a base to start my own project. I would also like to help in anyway I can. I'll post some screen shots of what I've done so far. A few things i've done are.
Mario: I redid him from scrach, eye, eye brows, "M" patch on hat, side burns, and overall buttons. I used the newest mario game to date as a texture example.
Red carpert redone, black and white tile redone.... this one looks godly. and the sun on the floor.

hey turgo your mario looks..angry XD
but it looks good

@HiReZ92 you could use the slice selector tool..
to use it right click on the slice tool, then choose the slice selector tool (alot of the word "tool"...XD)
then just look on the options menu (the under File, Edit, etc.) and you should see divide and then divide the pixels in half to get the best cut

thanks.... yeah my friends noticed that too, Im still working on it. For now he has an anger management problem. Btw fyi the the brick textures are the origanal ones. muahaha! I noticed that the game has over sized textured so i all i did was shrunk the textures down and stacked them. Also i darkened them a little as well. Look good so far if i do say so my self, but the damn alpha, and rbg textures, are gona be fun.
