Why do you think so?
I'm unsure if Moogly thinks exactly as you expressed it (though he may deny other emulation techniques).
As for ContraSF, I merely explained why corn 0.30 didn't normally work in 2k/XP.
Haven't I already expressed something like this on emutalk? I certainly have.
Could you both act a bit more mature?
just enjoy whatever emulators he produces
just have fun with it while coding
Mudlord, why the trolling?
Mudlord, I.S.T.: Could you both act a bit more mature? We are not 15 anymore, aren't we? If MooglyGuy is arrogant, it's a personal matter, which can be completely ignored as long as you don't follow him while trolling, just enjoy whatever emulators he produces, and ignore his attitude if that bothers you.
Personally I follow his blog, as I find LLE emulation as interesting as HLE, as both serve different purposes. LLE is all about getting same results as hardware and documenting how it worked, HLE is about getting it to play as fast as possible with the barest approximation to work. Just choose whatever suits your goals better, and don't bother to check what others think, just have fun with it while coding![]()
mud, all you're doing is stirring stuff up, and making things worse.
and MG doesn't have anything to do with this topic in the first place!
angrylion is a known associate with MG. I have nothing against angrylion personally however: its MG thats my nemesis.
I don't pretend to know the details of whatever's going on, but this statement makes it sound like he's got an awful lot of power over you. Don't get me wrong; I respect you mudlord, but it's just stupid to let the idiots run our lives. That fucktard is one of the reasons why I stopped emucoding in the first place...
as long as emulation exists, there will be purists, and there will be performists.
neither is right neither is wrong.
when it comes down to it though, i just want the emulator to fucking work, and to do so at a decent speed.
I totally agree, although decent speed is secondary; a slow, working emulator, still requires hours and hours of work, and shows that the programmer is highly skilled at what he/she does. That deserves much respect no matter how well the emulator performs.
Well... the problem is that the "more" accurate ways are sometimes not meant to be fast using specific hardware. Even Project 64 would be considered awfully slow compared to UltraHLE back then (speed would be far from decent on demanding games) and it can't be considered as an accurate emulator (still far more accurate than UltraHLE).
Sometimes there are sacrifices that have to be made in order to reach acceptable speeds ranging from ugly hacks to missing features and such.
It's not just about coding skills. Documentation, extensive testing on various configurations and hardware capabilities all play a major role there.
