Legend Of Zelda: MM Rom

To stop the people from asking:
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
Pentium 4 2.0 GHz
256 MB RAM
nVidia GeForce 4 MX 420
Create Live! Series Soundcard.

Alright, into the problem. When I attempted to emulate Majora's Mask on PJ64 yesterday, it worked perfectly fine. I was able to get the beginning of the Zora-themed levels. I did have to close the emulator suddenly, however, which may be the cause. Also, the game did crash when I was attempting to view my sword being reforged... Anyways, the reason I'm here is because MM refuses to load correctly. The emulation starts, the FPS spikes to 300-460, and the ROM never shows any video or animation of the opening scene. ALL of my other ROMs, including OoT, load perfectly fine (Although there is quite a skip in FPS in OoT now...). I was thinking that some code might have gotten screwed around with when I shut off the emulator quickly, that is, until I downloaded the ROM again, and it still failed. I'm figuring it's PJ64's current data on the ROM that is causing this. Alas, I am a noob who does not know how to configure this. Help is needed. I want to enjoy my beer and Zelda again .

P.S. [Edit] I have the ForceWare 70 drivers because these drivers are the only ones that allow me to run Doom3 without it appearing as a giant block of blue nothingness.

EXTRA: It's definitely the core. I took out the MM save and all of the MM related files from the PJ64 program file. Then, I reloaded the ROM, and it still won't work. (Reloaded on new download.)

hahaha, the core.

what section of the interwebs did you crawl from, your video card is clearly a pos, and is likely half the problem.

its not the card i ran that game perfect on my old 64mb card... you just need to use up to date drivers..... and performance should improve

now you just have to decide which is more important Doom 3 or Project 64

WOW, you can run Doom 3 AND majoras mask on that relic? I think thats quite a feat.

Just a thought, but try backing up all your ROMs, plugins, etc. and reinstalling the Emulator. When you say you closed it suddenly, how was that? teminating the process in taskmgr or just closing PJ64 while its running?

If a card has a GPU and memory that run at crap clock speeds, updating drivers does very little for performance.

I recommend the late 4x.xx series or early 5x.xx series of drivers for that card (used to have it myself). Not sure if Doom 3 would play nicely with those drivers or not... (the only difference between working and nonworking is instead of all blue it would be 10,000 lovely shades of black? hehe)

theres 2 things you can do 1. use the Dx8 plugin with Detonator 40-50 drivers as they emulate Pixel shaders. 2. Use newer drivers with the Dx6 plugin. as the newer drivers don't emulate shaders causing missing effects.

I have this card. It's one very annoyying peice of crap, plus mine is faulty too. I've never tried Majora's Mask on it though.
