What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Larger packs crashing

So far I've had no problem with smaller and medium size packs, such as the 2009 cell-shaded OoT and Super Mario Retro 64, however larger ones such as Legacy of Darkness and Shadowman cause the emulator to crash. My initial searches made me think it was a LAA issue, since the crash always happens midway into texture loading, around 1900 on Shadowman, however I patched the program and it says now that it's LAA enabled, and the crash is still occuring.

My current setup is Glide Napalm WX release 1 video, and Azimer's HLE .56 WIP2 audio, on Project64 1.6.

Indeed, this happens to me as well. It's probably a video memory related issue. I rectified it doing these steps.

1)Try enabling "Show Texture Enhancement Options" in the plugin settings
2)On the "Texture Enhancement" tab, check both "Compress texture cache" and "Use texture compression".

This will make it work, it did for me, but the textures will appear somewhat smudged (due to texture compression).
