kazaa is freak'n terrible, for p2p, winmx is the best for me find everything i want to get, but only mp3's that is

about people saying the software you get on kazaa is fake or cut down, i would disagree . ive got various games from it and the reason they're so small is size is because (sometimes) the musics been packed in some compression program. also, check the file name and pm people if you're not sure.

You people are too impatient, I use IRC for ISOs and WinMX for MP3s. Both have queues, you just have to wait on them. Leave them to download overnight. If you have a 56k modem you shouldnt be doing either anyway.

Aww come come now, we've yet to mention the program with the largest file share (by 4x), the best for ISO's and movies (although very much not for mp3's), and the most reliable. Direct Connect . Takes a little bit of brains to get working (if you are on a firewalled system you have to use passive to be able to search), and if you want to get on the better hubs you can't be just a leech, but you can find anything anyone is interested in. Has slots, meaning you will usually get good transfers from people with good upload speeds. Less "renamed software", and you are able to browse peoples software lists (so, go up, get a guy with a T1, and find something good to download).

It has its downs, for the most part you can only access the user-base in segments, which makes for faster surfing but a split group. People, as with all F/S progs, can lie about their connection speed, and rename one thing to another (always always check yer filesizes with the release, never try to get a homemade unless you are desperate). D/C is still the best option however, for Movies/ISOs.

As always I reccommend not getting so enamored with one prog that you dump the others - combine them and get the most.

Kazaa is best for a secure download with no interuptions. I wouldn't use WINMX, even though it has hard to find files on it, but the resume feature is not always suported unlike Kazaa.

If you want a reliable download (secure isn't the right word to use here), your best bet is edonkey2000 or overnet. They run extensive md5sum checking on the files, so its pretty damn near impossible to get fakes, or corrupt downloads (you would probably win the lottery 8 times in a row before this happened).

Go on sharereactor.com and you can even see if what your looking for is available before you even download any clients.

Ah, I'd head to the Imesh Dark Side. Imesh seems to do pretty well (just hit 1+Million users) and I can find some rare stuff on it. Plus people tend to be less of dicks.

All this stuff about getting rare files on one program as opposed to another sounds stupid to me. You get what people have. Nothing more. The program has nothing to do with it. So if you look at it that way choices for programs become more obvious. Get the program with the most users on it and you'll have a better chance to get what you want.

well ... u get fakes in edonkey aswell - also emule / overnet are more reliable in terms of avoiding download errors....but I doubt that you'll get the same speed like on kazaa ....

Kazaa is full of fakes, I reccomend imesh..
