Isolated Video Performance Bug(s)

The game gets much slower (anywhere from half to 1/10th the frame rate depending on circumstances) if the window spans multiple monitors (was trying to split the split-screen :p). On the other hand if monitor rotation is enabled (single monitor; 90, 180, or 270 degrees) the game runs extremely slow (1/10th to 1/20th normal frame rate) to the point of causing system/mouse lag (only in windowed mode--runs fine with rotation in full screen mode).

I'm guessing this issue is pretty universal, but here are my test specs:
PJ64 v1.6, default plugins (Jabo's 1.6 all around)
Goldeneye 007 (also experienced with Perfect Dark, haven't tested others)
2.0-GHz Core Duo. 1.0 GB RAM
Mobility Radeon X1400, latest Omega drivers (3.8.413; also experienced with older Catalyst drivers)
Windows XP Pro Tablet PC Edition (5.1.2600 SP2)
DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
integrated (DVI) 1280x768 and external (VGA) 1440x900 LCDs

Perfect Dark and Golden Eye have speed issues they ran slow on the console if u read the notes it said high end system needed. I get the same problem and my systems faster. Try goin into Project64 settings while running the game. Go to optitons settings rom settings counter factor make it 1 it sould help.

Elite Knight you're completely missing the point, maybe you should reread my post. I get frame rates in the hundreds with these games and no system lag when my screen is not rotated or overlapping. Pay attention to the percentages. An average 120 fps normally might become 6-12 fps when the screen is rotated. I just tested Mario Kart, same deal. It's not about the games.

Agh! Can you not read? Maybe you don't know what monitor rotation is? Again, I don't have any problems normally, this is two bugs I have encountered by testing under special circumstances.

I assume your drivers do not accelerate 3d operations properly when the screen is rotated. This is probably also the case for the 2 screen situation - as a long-time Linux guy I have no idea how that is implemented in Windows.

there are several known performance bugs with screen spanning., this is in the implementation of spanning itself, so no amount of fixing pj64 will change this.

If you want to use dual monitors to play splitscreen on an NVidia card, tell it to use the Horizontal or Vertical Span dual monitor settings. Don't use Dualview, as the card then actually treats the mons as two seperate displays and will be much slower.

Hacker... NOT cracker, ok?
Plain and simple: DO NOT mess around with screen rotation, multiple monitors, overlays, etc. This is EMULATION, not a standard Pc game that will run exactly how you want it. Don't get too ambitious.

Also If you are doing this on your 'PC one', try it on the other machine. The 7200 is low end of the nvidia 7 series, so I doubt it has clock speeds matching your x1900 in 'PC two'

On a lower resolution with no anti-aliasing, so could a geforce 2 mx. This is Froasier's problem, not about your laptop.

Mobility Radeon X1400

Thats why its slow, as well as what I said before about mucking around with emulation.
