What's new

I hope this isn't too off-topic, but please tell me...

I'm buying a GeForce 2 MX (Please don't tell me about better cards) and am going to buy WWF RAW for the pc. If you look at my specs and count the GF2MX, will I be able to play it at a full speed with the detail ALL THE WAY UP? Also, will I get the same performance with RAW 2? I don't have an X-Box, so this is my only option.

Probably, your system looks pretty good, but why Geforce 2? You can get a Geforce 4 or FX pretty cheap now.

Why not the Geforce 2?
I and one friend intalled one of these in his computer
and ¡We had full speed on Conker's Bad Fur Day with excelent sound!:D
So, ¿why not?

Why?! When you can get a way better card for a similar price.. its like buying a beatle if the Audi TT costed a $$ more.

No, you won't get full speed with all the detail all the way up.

Mostly because you won't be CAPABLE of setting the detail all the way up.

GeForce2 line doesn't have pixel shaders, nor does it have environment mapping (EMBM).

Antialiaing doesn't works also (graphics get pretty choppy no matter the rest of configurations), so that's a setting you should learn to live without, if you buy a Geforce2 MX

Only guys with decent GeForce Ti/FX cards and guys with DX9 Radeons should consider having max settings in games really (even then turning some options down for performance in some games).

On an MX, the options are either unavailable as Tag said or too slow to be playable. This is assuming the game you want to play is fairly new and released within about two years of present date.

I played WWF Raw for PC with a Radeon 7500 and it worked ok with the detail full and 1024x768 resolution. The framerate was a little low but it was still fully playable since it's not a fast paced game. The Radeon 7500 is quite a bit faster than a Geforce 2 MX though, a Geforce 4 MX is about on par with a Radeon 7500 but slightly faster most of the time so if you want to play the game in full graphics I would say the Geforce 4 MX is minimum but when Raw 2 comes out for PC chances are it's going to want more power.

Actually come to think of it I think the Processor in the computer with the Radeon 7500 was a Duron 950 soooo...I'm sure the Geforce 4 MX would be fine and "maybe" you could use a Geforce 2 MX but the game does use some sort of fancy motion blur that is a large hit on performance.

hmm....i didn't think this many poeple would reply, lol. thanks. The reason I can't get a GREAT card is because my pc doesn't have an AGP slot (which sucks). I'm trying to use this card as a temp. card until I can get a better pc. This is the ONLY card available to me right now because I live in a valley type area and the nearest city with an Office Max or CompUSA is more than 40 miles away. I go into town a lot, but my family's much too busy to make stops for me, lol. What I meant about the detail all the way up was that the crowd isn't visible without the area turned up (the arena is the thing that slows the game down the most). If I have the overall texture detail on low, the character detail of medium, and the arena detail on high, THEN do you think it'll be playable? Sorry about all these stupid questions, but I want to squeeze out some good GFX outta my card. Thanks again guys.
