  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

Glide64 Not Loading Roms

I have been having issues with Glide64 for awhile now, and it worked just fine about a year ago on project 64 1.7(using 2.1 now).

The error that I get when I attempt to open a rom file.
CN64SYSTEM::EmulationStarting: Exception caught
File .\N64 System\N64 Class.cpp
Line: 258
^That filepath doesn't even exist on my system....

After clicking ok, the emulator will stay on a black screen.

I have spent some time researching the problem, and nobody seems to know how to fix it.

If you could help me it would be much appreciated. :)

If you are using Glide64 final, download an older version of the file Glide HQ.

Why would I want an older version of a plugin?
I'm using the newest version of the plugin, provided with Project 64 2.1

But I have already tried using the Glide Napalm release, and that didn't work either.

are you using a texture pack with this game in particular?

I never mentioned a specific rom, every rom opened comes up with that error.

It has nothing to do with the plugin settings, even with defaults set it doesn't work correctly.

File .\N64 System\N64 Class.cpp
^
This line perplexes me the most, there is no possible way to acess this filepath, because it doesn't exist.

The message about the .cpp file is a debug message and the file it references is from the computer that compiled the plugin, not your computer. That doesn't help your problem any, but might help with some confusion.

Getting the same error, doesn't matter what game I try to run, just crashes on attempt to load. It also doesn't matter if I'm using high-res textures or not, and even if I am using hi-res textures, am I supposed to be putting them in the new Textures folder that is now in 2.101? Anyone know where I can find more glide 64 support?

If you are using High-Res Textures in Glide64, the files should be placed in Plugin\GFX\Cache, and for Rice you should place them in Plugin\GFX\hires_texture.

This is still an issue for me, and I haven't figured out anyway to fix it.
I have researched even further into the subject, and I have tried multiple emulators.
Tried: Project 64 2.1, 2.0, 1.7, 1.6. 1.5, Project 64k, Mupen64.
Somebody said it may be some sort of compiling issue, but I'm not a programmer so I really can't look into it any further.

Similar Errors:

CN64 System::LoadFileImage-Exception Caught
File: D:\My Programs\emulation\Project64\Source\Project64\N64 System\N64 class.cpp
Line: 372 < This Is Actually Different

I also have another issue, the Rice Community Plugin works just fine, except cutscenes don't show up, specifically in Majora's Mask.
I have messed around with the settings for awhile, and I couldn't figure out why this was occuring.
