What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

how would i install and play it
First you need the rice vidieo plugin found
HERE andHERE You also need BMGlib found HERE Then you need the cel pack a emulator and the oot rom(duh:p). Extract the everthing into the emulators plugin folder (example c:/programfiles/project64/plugins) Load the rom and set the graphic plugin to one of the rice plugins. Go to the texture filter under the settings and select load hi-res if avialbe. And your ready to play ocarina of time CEL SHADED :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:. It takes forever to load:(, it makes the game slower:getlost:, and not all the textures load

. But its worth it with how cool the cel shading is. If it doesn't work go HERE

Open the settings menu while its displaying the N64 logo. Make a folder named hires_texture in the plugins folder to put the pack in. Put all the dll files in the plugin
s folder. If you still have problems

use the help thread. Or just mess around until it loads the textures:p. All the packs are set up the same way.

Actually...the load is to be expected from any hires mod, it doesnt really make the game slower, and if it does, it is barely noticeable (on my pc), and all the textures load. (except for places like outside the temple of time and inside houses)

As long as your system is fairly fast, the pack will barely impact on performance at all, and it takes a few seconds to load the textures on my rig.

Huh?

I know I am going to sound like a total noob(and I am) but how do I use this mod? I do have the original games and the rom on my xbox n64 emu. I downloaded the whole file. Do I have to patch the rom or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Performance when frame buffer effects happen with the new textures is very hampering to my system with the 6.1.1 beta 10 plugin. With the 6.1.0c plugin it runs at normal speed but the sky and magic bar don't load up properly. Ganon's tower was perfectly okay until I had to fight him for the first time, from then on the game was very slow/laggy. And I've got a 2.8ghz P4 1GB DDR and a Radeon 9700 Pro. I might try a different combiner next time, I was using pixel shader, but performance is definitley impacted in cetain areas where lost of the new textures are loaded (besides just Link and the ground...when you have Link, the ground, the walls, the sky, fire and ganon with the cape or ganon at the end all loaded up...very slow :p). And when zelda does her little pink swirly magic to open up the gates on the way down its choppy too.

Give me back my floppy face!
To korok: You can't use it on the XBOX emu. To use it on PC, try looking at the various help threads.

Grass!?

Hi there!, Dijipi.

I’m using your re-texture pack since a couple of days and I can’t stop thinking there is something weird around here. I mean, when I was using some of the mini-releases you made before the grass in the Kokiri Forest was brighter almost like a lemon (at least, this is the way I remember it :alien2: ).

Anyway, I’ll put some screen shot to better reference ...oh, by the way, I made some chances to make “the paths” cleaner (personaly, I think look’s better for this MOD).

SALUDOS!

This might look stupid(again) but I did everything to install the emulator and the texture pack, then I start the emulator and load the rom(the (e) version)then I configure everything so it loads the textures(takes about 2 minutes to load so I'm probably doing the right thing).

Anyway, once the textures are loaded, a message pops up saying that it "failed to initialize any 3d direct accelerator or something like that, then the rom runs but there's no image. Sound it OK, but no image at all. I just downloaded drectx 9.0. Is that what I needed? Any help would be appreciated, I'm just dying to try this thing! Thanks to all!
