well no need for a screenshot, i just set both image settings to ignore and leave all boxes unchecked. . also none on advanced texture filter. but really other than the image settings nothing seemed to affect the game anyway.

I'll get you Hey Steve!...
a quick heads up

The Radeon 9000 Pro supports PS 1.4 -- that particular card is actually a step ahead of the 9200's available on the market. (don't blame me, I didn't make up ATi's naming convention... :) )

anyway, plugin looks really great. I'll post any good stuff/issues I come across :D

I suggest you try Catalyst 3.2, despite Catalyst 3.2 is 1 year old.

Unless it noticably fixes some games you have, Catalyst 4x isn't required unless
you have a Radeon 9600 or Radeon 9800 video card.

I gotten wording about many problems with Catalyst 4x :(.

Don't blame ATI. Both Ati and Nvidia have problems with different emulators. In most cases the plugin works better on the cards similar with authors one. So Orkin has Nvidia and it works better on Nvidia.

Look at Chakan forum. There, Nvidia users had problems, because authors have ATI cards.

i think orkins got now a Radeon 9500 pro

Now but that’s not the point.
The point is that ATI and nvidia do a little bit TOO much into optimisation and this so called “optimisation” cause LOTS of troubles -> ask Hacktarux hes got into them while coding his wrapper..
so you could blame the "two" for this but on the other hand what other options looking on decend graphic perfomance , we have?
Not easy i wish there would be a way to force aTI and Nvidia to write a clear driver.. but thats not gonna happen :(

How about a progress update? I understand that you're probably busy with real life and whatnot, I'd just like to know what's going on (as would everybody else, i'm sure).

Yeah, pretty much everybody who has a graphics card without any Pixel Shaders trying to use Direct64 has this. You need to buy a more powerful graphics card.

I've actually taken a couple weeks off of working on Direct64; went on a bit of a vacation, and then played through the latest in one of my favorite game series (Thief: Deadly Shadows. Excellent game, if stealth is your thing and you can get past its few oddities). I'll be getting back to work on it pretty soon though, don't worry.

Anyways, as far as the plugin's progress goes: the further-improved color image/render target handling is nearly complete, and it looks like it's going to work much better than the old method. Which means fewer black screens and "Error creating render target!" messages.

There are several things about T:DS that I didn't like as much as in T1/2, but there are also new things in T:DS that I like better. The sound, the atmosphere, the story, the graphics; they're all great, and very Thief...if they hadn't had to cater to the XBOX's limitations (small RAM, etc.), and had more time to polish up a few things (animations, rag-dolling, AI, etc.), it probably would have been better than T1/2, but alas, we don't live in a perfect world...if they do release an SDK (PLEASE EIDOS!!!), I think the fans will be able to tweak out all the problems with it, and then we'll be in Thief nervana (I already tweaked my INI to make the HUD much nicer).

I liked the original Splinter Cell, but got bored with Pandora Tomorrow. It's just the same as the old one, with a less engaging story, and even fewer gameplay options (I got so bored I never even finished it). T:DS, on the other, had enough atmosphere and story to keep me glued to my screen, in spite of its faults.

Anyways, enough off-topicness, I guess I should say something about Direct64 to validate this post...ummm...I'm thinking about renaming it to something that more closely matches the kewl logo I made, what do you think?
