What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

What Drisc said. You really couln´t ask for a better member, he is nice to everyone here, and loves what he is doing, and is extremely devoted. The guy has been working on this since...I think it was April 2005.

I must say that retexturing (especially GOOD retexturing) is absolutely amazing for what it brings to the games! It's like the games themselves never lose their sense of amazing gameplay....personally I think Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World are just as good now as they were when I was a kid back when the SNES was the main console...and I still think Super Mario 64 and especially Ocarina of Time will be just as good 10 years from now from a gameplay perspective, some might say a feat to be often immitated and never matched or surpassed even by the games sequels (much like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark imo) but these retextures breathe new graphical life into these games and bring the graphics up to a very good level so that these timeless classics can be enjoyed by new generations aswell as previous generations who loved the game when it was new....that's why I hope and pray that retexturing never goes away or rather evolves with the times as technology moves forward because one thing is for sure....every once in a while a game will come out that is one for the ages....and retexturing of some kind brings a new lease of life to it....and if current and future games cannot match their heritage and retexturing doesn't evolve with technology then we can always be safe in the knowledge that the games we do have already can be loved once more and look better than ever and it's all down to Djipi and people of his ilk on this forum and probably others too.

They all have my thanks, appreciation and grattitude and I am certainly forever grateful for their efforts. Thanks alot guys and keep up the awesome work! :)

Driscol

annoying you for over a year!
good games will NEVER lose their essence.
even like games that say today would have been a futuristic wonderworld.

Djipi you are very welcome and thanks again :)

Driscol I'm not quite sure what you meant by the last part of your post....but from what I gather from the first part of it I tend to agree about good games never losing their essense....that's because 9 times out of 10 it's revolutionary gameplay and pacing that comes together perfectly to compliment the game and that never changes over time....perception of graphics do.....just look at Metal Gear Solid, graphically it's a bag of spanners nowadays but for actors lines delivery and tension of storyline it's still unmatched in them regards in my honest opinion even by it's own sequels which ties in to what I said before....on the subject of MGS I wonder if Kiefer Sutherland got the idea for his hit tv show 24 from Metal Gear Solid as the twists and turns and how it plays out are very similar.

Jack Bauer > Solid Snake lol.

Thommo, i´m glad there are more people like me and Drisc (And probably Djipi as well, lol)that shares the same opinion when it comes to games. I still like the Mario games as well. Heck, Super Mario Bros 1 is still very enjoyable. The graphics may not be pretty by todays standards, but the graphics are, imo, the least important part of a game. I would play a 3D game with 8 bit graphics if it was done right, and not care about the graphics, if the game is good.

Still, i don´t mind nice graphics, like in FarCry 2, Crysis, Bioshock, Pure etc.

Djipi, hope everything goes well both with the pack, and your life in general.
