Booting Problem and repeating Bios

When I start Chankast the bios keeps repeating. Some people said to delete the bios but this doesn't seem to work. On the older versions its still happens but if I delete all the files and re-install it works.

Now I got Street Fighter III third strike selfbootable but the emulator doesn't detect a disc in the drive. I used Daemon the latest version and Alcohol 120.

The release was an Echelon one so I thought it must be the intro problem thing. So I burned it and put it in the Dreamcast and it plays fine and has no intro.

I then put the backup disc in to the cd-rom drive to try and get it to work but it stil doesn't detect a disc in the drive. I did configure the drive letter correctly at all times. The funny thing is the cd-rom read light never comes on which leads me to believe that the emu is simply not reading the drive. But when I eject the disc and put it back in it says reading disc and then stays where it is. If I select play the bios starts repeating again even after a fresh install.

So what do I have to do to get it to work on Chankast? I really can't play the game with the Dreamcast controls and have better pads (for Street Fighter) on the PC which is why I want to emulate the game instead.

It becomes a very tiring process when it says no disc and to try again I have to delete all files and start over again including defining controls.

And I do appreciate the authors' time and effort which goes in to the emulator but I just wish I could get it to work!

It should work (in theory). Are you using a Europian or a US or Japanese bios file? The Europian bios shows a blue swirl but the US and Japanese bios show a red swirl, you should use the Europian bios. Also make sure that the files inside the Chankast directory are not read only.

I used the one with a red swirl. The files were read only. But even I undid that it still was screwed. So I'll try the European files. Does that mean the flash file as well? I'll assume it is.

dont, dont, dont...

you used bin2boot for generate CDI image?
i used binhack to hack IP.BIN, with these options

1ST_READ.bin
IP.BIN
0,0

and it works, otherwise i tried in the last option of binhack this value 11700
this value causes infinite loop after sega logo's

:p

PsyMan Thanks a million. It worked like a charm. Perhaps they should mention this somewhere where people can read it as I'm not the only one having this problem. Can't wait for future releases!
