Nah I don't expect any chaos that we haven't already seen, no matter which way things go. But, so far as government...kinda apples and oranges here. ET doesn't have a "bill of rights", and the prime minister, if you will, (/me pokes martin) has absolute power here :happy: . In the case of our government, the end result could end up being bad, but if its that bad, it won't last.
What you are suggesting is that if enough people want a specific thing, then it ends up becoming the law, no matter what the constitution says. Such may be the case, but if a law like that is so well desired, and everybody wants to abide by it, then they wouldn't feel opressed by it would they? Hence what the government does thus far, and again supporting the idea that they are not all about taking rights away (go ask yoder or miranda).
Hell I don't know why a lot of people complain anyways, half of the population never bothers to vote, therefore rejecting their opportunity to make changes. (the elderly and wealthy people vote more than the rest)
