1964 0.9.9 Is Out!!

After fixing the problem I was having before and playing some games for a while, I have to say this is the best N64 emu out right now. There are a few games that still work a little better with PJ64 1.5 w/ SP1, but a lot of games work much better or at least just as good with this new version of 1964. Two thumbs up to the 1964 dev team and the beta testers.

Excellent work! Finally DK64 is playable without glitches even with Jabo D3D :D. When the next Glide64 will be released, this will be the best combo ever!

btw: schibo, in the audio plugin, the stereo is reversed, Maybe because of your audio system but you should add an option for normal or reverse Stereo in your audio plugin config dialog ( well, if make one first ;) )

Dr Mario is a wierd problem that has only just been introduced - I'll have a look at it later.

Pilotwings - Use Rices OpenGL
what is opengl v1.1?? is it a plugin?

Open GL 1.1 is one of the OpenGL modes that is selectable using Rices plugin - this is the lowest end version, and should work ok on most cards. OpenGL 1.4 in contrast is on the other end of the scale.

also, when using rice daedalus plugin, the menus in wwf no mercy are not really visible(black).can someone help but iwht jabo direct3d6 v1.4,the menus are correct but in the game the image flashes(black, image, black image, black image).can someone help plz??

Depends what graphics card you have really. Jabos D3D 1.5.1 and Glide64 both work great. As does Orkins GL, you may want to mess with combine modes with Rices too - as it does work well with this game.

Anyone tried the new 1964 on a K6-2? It doesn't work on mine, gives me an "emulation exception" for every game. Tried all plugin settings, uninstalling, etc and it doesn't work (but 0.8.5 works good). It does work good on my P4, however.

I want to say that glN64 is twice as fast on this release then the last one ( i'm using my Geforce 4 MX420 now ). I have some problems with rice's 5.2.0, but only with the games that work well in glN64, the games that don't, work well with rice's. Confusing. But overall, a great release.

now that you mention it, I don't think a single one of the testers has a k6-2. I think that's a no.

Ok for me the graphics are not good at all. Man, I feel so much like a leecher and a sh00b and an idiot, but is there any way to make the gfx better? I have plain taxtures, no actual colors or anything. My specs are below. Is it the Geforce?

I went to helpo about and it said SSE enabled, Hardware and OS support detected.

Oh yeah, i played the game as-is, meaning I didnt change any settings after I DL'ed it.

Use Jabo's gfx plugin :evil laugh:

Seriously, you need to mess around with the gfx settings a bit like trying different combiners. Some games simply don't work properly with Rice's plugin and schibo's audio, so you should use other plugins for these particular games. For example, Ocarina of Time is completely messed up using Rice's for me, so I use glN64() or Jabo's instead.

K thx, i opted for OpenGl in gfx plugin, and it started working better. I'll mess around with stuff. I really don't know what I was doing going into it thinking it would work.

A tip Jimbot - put the tooltip settings on in Rices plugin then see what the individual settings do (when you hover over them). Got a feeling the latest Forcewares from Nvidia stuffed some settings up for some people, not 100% on that though.

Just experiment, if what you try doesn't work - no big deal, set it back and continue messing about :)

Yeah, i got it as perfect as can be... already better than pj64... Jabo's plugin worked. That was all I did! LOL. Working on my netplay tutorial for this emu as we speak... pj64k was easy, this seems a little harder to figure out.. just gotta learn the new options thats all.

Topgear Overdrive is not working for me do i have to enter some rom settings i have all default settings set rices plugin and so forth. i also am getting an error message . i dont have sound problems , jabo sound 1.5 and others are working good ,no other problems found so far. I read the help file didnt see any clues. heres the error message only happens after i try to reload after a lockup, 800486C8C Exception in emulation thread. It wont go to the start menu just like in pj64 .

Other games work fine graphics are good.

OMG! The emulator was just released today and people are already complaining about stuff not working. If you want stuff in games to look correct do what I did and download Glide 64 and EVoodoo glide wrapper. The cars in FZero X look perfect with it on Project 64. I look forward to trying out Mask of Majaro on the emu. Out of curiosity has anyone else tried Glide 64 with this new version of 1964? Laters. :)

I have. I use a VooDoo2 and also a Evoodoo/Glide64 combo sometimes. Both work great and look great. I prefer though to run in a windowed mode when I play so I tend to use Rice's plugin and Jabo more often then anything. Although I must say playing with glN64 lately, it is quite impressive. Can't wait to see the Glide64 and the next release of glN64. And not to speak for Rice, but I'm sure some great additions/fixes will happen with his plugin.

This is a great time for N64 emulation I must say. :D

I have tried posting pics, but it won't let me. It always gives me an error saying that it can't find the server.

hey guiverunit, some of my games look "better" but I'm still having EXTREME glitches with Rice. Would you PLEASE make a pic of your plugin's setup and attach it so I can see exactly what you have selected? I'm sick of using SLOW wrappers to get my games looking accurate. PLEASE help me out. Thanks.
