I think open discussion about this kind of thing should be encouraged. I think that calling it dangerous is a cranky grampa thing to do.

The article from Tom's Hardware affiliate TwitchGuru that I posted at the beggining of the thread contained the point I wanted to discuss... drugs 'n' gaming. Is it really so prevalent in our gaming culture?

Again, as with the PS3 thread, no matters if the article comes from a Tom's Hardware affiliate (brand). Just because of it comes from there it doesn't mean is good or right.

I didn't say that the use of drugs isn't dangerous... what I said in your quote was that its discussion should be encouraged and, to continue, the absence of nonbiased factual information is dangerous. People need to know the 'facts' about marijuana, not biased information meant to keep you from using by unjustly demonizing it.
I never said that the article I posted was good or right... wtf is your problem? It was an interesting article that seemed fitting to discuss on my 420th post. Tom's Hardware is a good website with useful information, in my mind that gives it a bit more credibility than Steve's Homepage Rox0rz or some random crap. Not that the article needs to be credible... its one guys opinion on a subject I wanted to discuss. Why do you insist on being such a pain-in-my-posts?

Weed cause healths problems, cause brain cell damage and overall cognitive problems with long time use. That is a scientific fact. Don't come here to tell me and everyone that years of scientific research is fake information and there is a "conspiracy" against cannabis and they are all wrong. If you want to read the facts there's wikipedia and there's google too. I'm not posting articles about it here, I just would never end.

Because I use something called common sense and I've been here for years, so I know how the people of the board behave and think in this social environment. For example, the facts of this thread:
1. With your exception, all the people that posted here doesn't currently smoke weed
2. Because of that no body can share with you the experiences about mixing weed and playing videogames.
3. Everybody agrees that weed addiction cause brain cells damage (nothing will happen if you smoke one time for a whole year period for example)
4. Everybody thinks this thread is just dangerous, because of the same reason porn isn't allowed here, there are too many kids around. I know you recently stated the "don't do drugs kids" stuff, but you didn't stated that in your first post.
So, if you smoke weed go ahead and live in your magical marihuana forest, but don't tell us we are old conservative people just because we don't like that forest.
So as I said, no one around seems to share your experiences about smoking weed and videogames, so there's no more discussion.

omg. I didn't complain to anyone about anything, man. Show me where I showed any disrespect to people choosing not to do drugs. I have friends who don't smoke up... I don't really smoke weed much myself these days anyway... it dosen't make a difference to me what you personal choice is.
The point of this post: Are drugs and video games a common mix in our society... the answer, NO, according to the ever so lively emutalk community. Thanks to t0reks wonderfully bulleted list of reasons, I've come to believe that this subject is one that has no crout in this forum... I guess I neglected to realize that no one here enjoyed smoking weed and playing video games as much as me in my days.
I also neglected to realize that this forum is full of old people and little kids? Whoa, stepped into the wrong building I guess. Well... I respect some of the old guys here... they helped me in my early emulation days... and the kids, well, I like to help em out when I can. So, is a hopless excentric really out of place here? For comic relief or flameage... for the general degradation of the webs youth... to mend and defend (warning, incoming game)... REBOOT!

Yeah, the age range on emutalk is pretty well distributed... age 12-40 is a pretty good guess.

I suppose a more appropriate question would be "what do you do" but I wanted an answer to a very specific trend of lifestyle.
