  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

Finished the base crescent shape used on many objects in the dungeon and the mirror shield.
I also made a v1 of the 'end wall with crescent' (naming all of these textures can be confusing >.<)

to make the crescent symbol consistent between the different occurrences of it, some small details of the star may look different from the original for the different textures it's used on I'm doing.

the mirror shield texture also has a texture if just the outline of the shape, used for the reflection under light sources in the temple. It should go with the shield and not in the temple's textures. Pointless to show it now, but I did do it with the same shape

I love the wall arch border 3 but why do you use distortion anyway ? v1 looked 95% the same as original and there was no distortion there... try comparing original to v1 you'll see what I mean...

@kristian I'll do the dump for you. Not going to do it today, but tomorrow I'll start working on it, and finish by tomorrow or tuesday.

my release for v5, it should include every new re-texture new I've done that I have not released, if not please tell me right away!

im back guys, i was abroad for a long time sadly. got back at half past 5 this morning.

@savage hunter: you could help out if you want to. ill upload my finished shadow temple textures. still got a long way to go but it help if you know which textures are already done

@death--droid: could you give a quick rundown of whats been done while ive been away

@hyperion86 the bombchu shop looks fantastic. The only thing i think needs some work are the green bottles on the shelf and on the table. They do not look like glass whatsoever. More like plastic. No highlights and no transparency.

much better on the bottles, they don't look so 2D now.

I don't like the texture for the tables and chairs.
I see you're trying to keep it with the original, but the original looks weird.
I think it should not be that saturated or have that much of a red-ish hue. That can easily be fixed with a color balence layer in PS.

I see what you mean about the tables and chairs. Perhaps they where meant to be made up of boards. I'll see if they look better that way.
Meantime, I'll fix the texture saturation, as I too think the original looks a bit weird.

General possibly stupid question: When I'm editing a texture, do I just quadruple its size? 'Cause I can't put much detail in their regular size. And if I do quadruple the size, does it translate properly in game or do I have to do something to make it work?

Thanks for dealing with my ignorance, this is my first time dealing with textures (obviously), but I hope I can at least help a little. I read some of the stuff at the start, but I'm one of those people who needs to be told personally (Or in this case, with a post), or shown an example. Rather than clutter up the thread trying to help me, you can just PM me. Thats probably better.

You can technically use many different multiples of the original
2, 4, 8. 16, 32
I think 64 and 128 are supported, but should not be used for various reasons, including that it will make many PCs lag

I HIGHLY recommend you do all of your source work in 16x as a MINIMUM, and all finished textures should be AT LEAST 8x

I just want to clear this up for people who may be confused, but it's the dimensions that are being multiplied, not the image's size. An image that is twice its size would end up with dimensions that aren't whole numbers.

I was trying to spell 'chaos' I was a complete failure at spelling back then, now I'm 18 and I'm about average in spelling.

dimensions, can't believe I forgot to say that's what you're multiplying lol
also you must use the same multiplier for both the height and width

I did the whole thing with the puzzle piecing method that I have used to finish all the of these types of dumps, but the shops require a lot more puzzle piecing as not much of it is viewable in-game.
The 4 missing parts are un-dumpable as the others...

I have updated the tables and chairs, as well as their texture, is now clearer. For the moment I'll be working on the dump of the back of the store.

I'm using chaos's dump of the shadow temple. not sure if its a complete dump. lens of truth doesn't work so I cant get very far to see if there are more textures that need dumping.
