What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

See edited post on previous page. Fixed my issue.

Edit--cool. Just making sure. I wonder why no one else has mentioned that yet...?

No big deal, though

Yay, more issues.

Actually, this is more of an inconvenience than an issue... and I don't know if this is actually a problem with 1964 or 1964video...

The emulator crashes if I change from loading to not loading hires textures, or if I change from dumping to not dumping textures (or vice versa). I recall having an issue with the program stalling after I hit OK in older versions, but it would start working again a few seconds later. Now, as soon as it pauses, Windows decides to step in and call the program unresponsive, and start checking for solutions/closing the program.

So, like I said, it may be that Windows is being a little overprotective, or it may be that there's some sort of bug in the program. Honestly, I have no clue. Either way, there are no error messages involved, so I can't really be more specific than that.

Edit--I may have fixed it... turns out you can tell Windows not to check for a solution every time a program has a hiccup... so I was able to do what I wanted for once. Now let's see if that wasn't a fluke.

OK, so despite a number of getting-started-all-over-again-with-a-new-setup issues, I managed to (as promised) get a couple of textures done this weekend.

I decided to start on the outside of the temple--Zeckron did the Lake Hylia area quite some time ago (man, I miss him), but he didn't get a chance to do the entrance to the temple. And since it is the entrance, I feel obligated to bring it up to resolution to match everything else. So, without further ado, before & afters of the two missing textures (the tunnel (wall and floor were combined) and the gate (with added rust, since it's underwater--I think the original had rust on it, but it wasn't very clear whether or not that's right):

Before:

After:

This is the little thing where you hit the diamond with your hookshot to get the gate to open:

@Chief
The metal grate is my favorite of that batch of work. Floor inside the entrance is my 2nd, which looks much better darker like you did it
Inside rock walls shouldn't be so saturated blue and darker in my opinion

Love the shell, but it needs a bit better lighting to make it really stand out and defined

the square blocks on the outer wall, needs to have the long rectanges and the tiny squares like the original. The color, saturation, lightness, and base texture looks perfect tho

Overall grade for your report 'B+'

The blocks on the wall are part of the Lake Hylia pack and can't be changed--they appear in several other places in that area, and look great there. I'm already way ahead of you on the blue stuff, I just don't have time to load it in-game and make a screenshot. I've tried to make the lighting better on the shell, it just doesn't want to cooperate. I'll give it another shot with a different base texture that may show the lighting better. That will have to wait until next weekend, probably.

Nice one Chieftain.
Rocks and the shell engravings look great!
The tiling on the outside wall looks a little flat compared to the original. Maybe you can fix that with a shadow blending effect?

I forgot to post some screens of fire temple. These are rather old ones. I don't have much time recently so I haven't been doing much.

Also did the temple of time long ago like i announced when i came back. But I saw someone else already did it:

Nice job mode7 the Fire Temple looks quite nice.
I would like to see your temple of time textures in a game to see if there better then the ones i made.

@mode, like I said, I really don't want to mess with that texture--it's Zeckron's work, and looks great everywhere else in the game. I can't change it in this area without altering it everywhere else.

This better?

I personally think the bevel you used doesn't really work out, I think the texture needs to look as if its flat except for the small drop in it.

chaos, the texture looks really nice but the bevel is different to the original if you upload the texture its self and your base texture then i could do an example of what d--d and cheiftain are trying to get at.

p.s chaos, could you make screenshots for me if i send you my textures as 1964 is now kinda refusing to go into fulllscreen and if i higher the windowed resolution then it just plays the game in a box and leave the rest of the window black

The only thing I can think of is litterally make a dark pair of slightly transparent, blurred lines, which is not what I think is wanted

yes to the texture and yes to the screenshots

If you do make a nice bevel, make sure to upload the finished PNG or PSD to a file hosting service, not an image service, to make sure the quality/resolution is not effected

You'll need 7 zip to decompress it
