Come on, don't jump to conclusions.
Sure, it may have Linux, but how well will it perform? The SPEs can ONLY do a specific task (like physics or AI), although without specifics I cannot be certain but, that means the PS3 can only use the main processor or the SPE that runs the OS for the OS. And let's get real... the PS3 CPU plainly sucks (no branch prediction; no out-of-order execution; narrow execution window; etc).
What super computer? It's more like pathetic computer. Don't bother, really. The PC is way superior.

Dude, of course people want a next-gen console and due to low availability, prices rise high. That's how the world works.
It doesn't mean the PS3 is more wanted. It's because there simply is not enough units which causes tragedies like this.

Still, the Wii is worth $250 and the PS3 is worth $600. If I were a thief or a robber or whatever, I'd target the PS3 because it sells for more.

Well, it's a matter of perception I suppose. People will rach a level of insanity equal to the level of desire for it. Ask anyone that bought a PS3 if the reason they did was just to get next get hardware, and you'll find that's not the reason. It's the new Playstation, and people have come to know and love the platform with the first 2. They have a library that nobody can compete with, and have always defined what it takes to be successful in the industry.

Oh, please. We all know there are fanpersons of systems. Ask a Nintendo fanperson and you'll see that they will probably buy any Nintendo system to come. That's just how it is.
And many, many people who went in line for PS3 wanted one just so they could sell it on ebay. Just because it's worth a lot of money when there are so few units available.

Bottom line is: the PS3 is doing what the N64 did 10 years ago. It's becoming THE GIFT of this year's Christmas season. I view it as Sony taking the crown as king. And you'll notice: most people that stood in line to get a PS3 to sell on ebay bought two. Why? One they could sell, the other they could keep.

I would think that THE gift for chrimas would be Revolution because of its affordable price and bigger availability. Many are going to purchase it as many has.

For less money, you can get an underpowered system (by today's standards) that doesn't do much, and takes a desparate turn by emulating old consoles. As you've said so many times, why do that when the PC can do that? I can run all those old console games on my PC, so do I really need to pay $8 for a copy of Sonic 2 to play it on a Wii?
Yes, I'm a fanboy, I admit it. I'm a GAMES fanboy. I go where the best games are, and for the past 2 generations, that's been on Sony's consoles. When it comes to selection and a large library that covers everything in gaming I want, Sony always has it covered. It's no wonder why they're king of the hill.

Clouded judgement again. So there were no games on the SNES you wanted? On the Genesis? You're just being silly. Sony had the games because their console dominated the market! No wonder their console got all the games. It isn't because Sony is greatest company in all the world, it's because of the market works. And face it - this time around, games are going to be more spread out, so stop relying on the PS3.

Trust me, I'm what I claimed to be: a GAMES fanboy. PS3 has a more exclusive library than any other console so far, not to mention it has exactly what I want in that exclusive library (FF13, MGS4, etc...). I do see what's going on, however. MS and Nintendo are so scared of being topped again, the two companies have formed some sort of temporary pact to side with each other in a desparate attempt to try to keep the PS3 down. How shameful is it to go to your competition in fear? Very, I would say.

Oh was it? If I remember correctly, the GC was more powerful than the PS2 and better than the Xbox (yes, the Xbox had more POWERFUL hardware, yet it was PC architecture, which is flawed).

PS1 competed with the SNES and Nintendo made a mistake with the cartridges for the N64, because they were expensive to design. The Gamecube was not flawed (following the EXACT same formula as Sony does!), yet it did not win.
Sony won because Nintendo made a mistake and the next time Sony already had a strong console and name (the PS2 came out before the GC, you know?).

Nonsense. The PS3 have games YOU want. For now. We'll see if other consoles get other interesting titles you want. Or maybe you only appreciate those FPS go and kill with modern weapons type of games.
