No. There are only two ways to get SWRS working. There's a certain Rice configuration I was able to produce for it, but, not worth mentioning. This is for Shadows of the Empire. Trust me, dude, it works. I spent an hour making that configuration, and it's agreeably the best.
No, I believe you. I cannot test Glide64 on this machine...damn driver issues. I've tried everything, and I just cannot get Glide64 to work. (It does work, but with the exception of Zelda and Banjo games, the screen is just black throughout most of the game, otherwise flickering.)
Anyway, BigHead's list tells me that Glide64 runs slow in certain parts of the game. So, in my configuration guide, I will mention that either Glide64 or Rice's Video 5.9.9 should be used, depending on your system. (And, yes, there is an error in my guide saying that only Direct64 supports Super Mario 64's dissolve effect. mudlord pointed Glide64 out to me; this update will be made in the next release, I promise.)
