What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

Retexturing help

I'm trying to get into retexturing for oot but I'm having some problems with the dumped folders. First off, not all the textures are dumping. I read from one of the linked sites that I'd have to play through the whole game to get all the dumped textures (i.e. it only dumps textures from where I'm currently at). Does anyone know a place to download them or does someone have all the dumped textures already? If so that would make things much easier (or just saves for certain parts so I can go there and dump them myself?)

Also I'm a bit confused as to what folders the 'correct' textures to retexture are located in. For instance, in my current tex_dump folder there's ci_bmp, ci_bmp_with_pal_crc, and ci_by_png all with the same, or almost the same, textures. And there's some textures that seem to have doubles - for example, one with 24 bit depth (rgb) and one with 32 (rgb and alpha).

Any guidance/tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Phillip,
no there is no such thing as a complete dump and it would only make limited sense, as it sometimes is hard to figure out what a certain texture is meant to be.

TIPP: Use the emulators built in cheats to reach your area fast.

For the folders: Personally I only use ci_by_png and png_all this is the easiest choice and you'll find 99,9% of the textures there.

Thanks for the reply. One more question just for clarity: so if a copy of a texture is in both folders I'd have to do them both, or just pick one and put it in both and rename them accordingly?

Oh and I checked out your tutorials on the redux site and they're great. Some great tips and videos there. :)

Thx!

If there are two copys you only have to use one.
Well there shouldn't be copies if you stick to the folders I described.
