alright, i was able to edit it using emacs and now its working fine. thanks alot guys

if you ever need to do that again without x, other console editors you could try are joe and vim, joe happens to be my favorite :)

Well, at least Linux is easier to use then dos... ;)

Very true, I always find myself trying to type "ls" whenever I use the command.com shell in windows. Wish there was a way to have bash v2+ replace the command.com shell entirely. Plus color coded filenames and autocomplete kicks ass (well, command.com has autocomplete, but it is so dodgy its hardly usefull).

That aside, I find linux a lot more robust and better to use to just get the job done, its just the learning curve is so steep.

Well, if I had any reason to get linux, I would get an old 486 and try it on there. i wouldnt wanna be lost running it on the only PC in the house.

thats why i have soe files in c:\windows :

ls.bat
bye.bat
poweroff.bat
