What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.
  • As members seem to have a problem reading the release threads:

Djipi's packs are built for the (Glide64 finale) Plugin. Nolonger supported!
Djipi's packs are built for the (GlideN64) Plugin.
These two Plugins are two completely different pieces of code.

GlideN64.HTC archived packs locked by Djipi are not compatible with use on Glide64, Rice video, nor Jabo video.

Glide64.DAT archived packs locked by Djipi are not compatible with use on GlideN64, Rice video, nor Jabo video.

Djipi has never made a pack for use with Rice video and never will. any packs found in this format are not authorized!

GlideN64 is the new standard and only requires an Radeon 6XXX.
This is a somewhat older GPU and should be readily available.
Do everyone a favor and upgrade!

I'm including the dump of the original images, while anyone may download it's intended really just for kerber2k for his menu project. These images are not high res, just the original images as stated.

Nice work. I do think choco mountain needs to look a bit more 'choco' instead of solid rock. Also, maybe the new menu color stands out a little too much?

Don't take this the wrong way, just constructive criticism. Again, nice work :).

Constructive critism is usually welcome, but I dont think the Choco mountain was ever very "choco" This is pretty close to the original texture, I just added a higher resolution effect...I think the colors are even pretty damn close. It helps if you describe the texture with other words besides "choco" :flowers:

I think there is too much red in the textures on the side. In contrast with the ground texture you have created it looks even more red. The ground needs to give the illusion of a lumpy uneven surface instead of a flat paved look.

I like your second effort much, much more. Is that texture you made less red (the side choco texture) done at 4X size? It still seems stretched thin... if it is 4X, I think that's a good argument for Rice to allow exceptions up to 16X original textures (but to discourage the use unless necessary).

great work!

i have an idea about character textures:
i know editing them in photoshop makes no sense because there are too much of them. but how about some kind of batch processing? for example there is a executable from the hq4x filter. it shouldn't be hard work. i also think a better result for the character textures would bring a advmame4x scale filter. but i don't know if there is a executable out there.textures would stay in the original style but appear much sharper. what do you think?

Yea I like the sound of pretty much pre-filtering the charecters I have thought about this aswell, simply because my videocard cant load high-res textures and have filtering on without serious slowdowns in-game.

finally i found a executable for scale4x
now it looks like hq4x is the best option but i also like some details on scale4x

what do you think?

EDIT:
hq2x is working good for me because it's not that extreme like hq4x
resized for comparrison
