Onboard SiS, Intel and Voodoo 3 video hardware don't support 32-bit color, even windowed. To run 3D games, with the above hardware, you are required to change the desktop color setting to high color (16-bit), otherwise, the games will fail and many 3D software will display an error message.

MMMM not all....My SIS 630/730 support 32-bit mode.I can use it in PJ64,and all PC games that i have,in full screen mode and windowed

This isn't looking good for me :( I have AMD 2500+, XP Pro, Radeon 9600 256mb, 512 DDR... Same config :(

In fact, I almost thought I had written this post when I clicked on it (damn it's late here ;) )

I'm having all the same problems... must be something with the vid card eh?

I know how to "fix" it,, finally....
First U have to download deadalus' last driver: 5.1.0 and copy it to plugins... Then start PJ64, and click away the errors. Changer ur plugin to deadalus 5.1.0 and press ok. Then change it again to jaboo's direct3D6 1.5.. And click ok, then open a rom, and guess what,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
it works!!!!!!!!!! with no graphic problems at all, the bad part is that u have to do this everytime u start pj64, but u will get used to,,, wha, i can play Oot again!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

good luck, hope it works on ur pc too!!!

Do you mean Rice's Daedalus plugin 5.1.0d? Because I tried that just now and it still doesn't initialize :(

BTW, NEMU64 works for me, only a few of the games work, but OoT and Majoras Mask both seem to work for the 30 seconds I checked :p

Now to see about ordering an adaptoid ...

Did u do this? : Start PJ64, change plugin to deadalus press ok, change plugin to jaboo's D3D6 and press ok. Then open a rom.

??? Or did u just change it to deadalus' driver?

I did what you said :( Changed it, pressed ok, then back. And any variations of that. Oh well *sigh*

None of the other graphics plugins I've tried have worked. Though no error messages were displayed, when I start a rom all come up blank. FPS show up starting at around 50fps and drop lower and lower to about 5 and I stop it.

Other emulators do show pictures and work, though none I've tried have worked all that great so I'm trying to get this one to work :p

I also installed those Omega drivers, they didn't seem to help.

Also dxdiag came up negative (I'd already done that)

*sigh* Hrm, I have an nForce2 chipset mobo, perhaps that could be a source of troubles?

Just a quick note to anyone here trying to help, PJ as you may or may not know creates error logs when things like startup fail, it's very important to obtain the contents of these *.log files when they exist

I'm glad to hear you solved the problem by using a Direct3D8 plugin, but you haven't figured out why Direct3D6 doesn't work, heh ah well have fun with your games :)

oddly enough these are out of memory errors, it says you dont have enough memory somehow

so it shouldn't (probably) be driver related, maybe you have some kind of weird process taking up a lot of memory ?
