Michael Jacksons early stuff was excellent, and about Metallica, while amazingly talented with some excellent songs, I just find listening to their albums incredibly boring. To truly test how good a band is you have to listen with giant headphones while just about to go to sleep.... well, it works for me

MJ was great at the time, but his style isn`t really popular anymore... Too bad, I used to like his songs a lot when i was small... I mean, I can still remember the stupid "Billy Jean" song
Anyway, back to greatest bands: though he`s definitely not one of the greatest, but I still find Marilyn Manson rather entertaining... If you look past all of the satanist bullshit, his songs are kinda fun to listen to. A specially the live album at Cleveland. Sum41 have a pretty neat album too, though they sound a bit like Blink182...

metallica are a bunch of nobs who hav completely lost their touch. they used to be good, but now they just care for the money. the fact that if u d/l a mp3 by them on napster, u would be banned (they enforced this about 4 months before napster was shut down); its not like they arent rich enuff! fuck that.
and michael jackson...he is fucked...its been on the news today that his plastic surgery has collapsed and his whole face has like crumpled up, its distgusting...he lost it the moment he became white!! the jackson 5 were decent.
there arent really a best band, music is an individual taste. but yeh the beatles influenced loads of bands and made great music.
dunno, im really only listen to hip-hop and classic rock like bob dylan. but ratm are very good (there first album anyway)...saw them live.
the best MC in hip-hop has to be Mos Def (saw him live too)...shit hes talented, and doesnt do any commercial crap...like Dre (whos lyrics are only on weed, women and fancy cars), but hes still popular. then theres more underground stuff like Deltron 3030...

Courtney Love is really weird, she's extremely clever at self promotion, and there is enough circumstantial evidence to suggest she did do it, and maybe that is part of this self promotion.
As for Linkin Park everyone is very cynical about them but there is enough variety in the group for them to out grow the current spate of crappy nu-metal bands like Limp Bizkit although that means dropping the nu-metal route and traveling down a route more like the penultimate track Cure for the Itch, but they'll hit second album syndrome as to which route they actually go down.

Some of their songs are a little too mellow though. I'll listen too them some time, just depends on my mood.
