Any way to make Jabo 1.7 Retextures into Rice Retextures?

Like Say get a Texture that was ment to work on Jabo 8 and Make it work on Rice's Plugin. (or the other way around)


Is it possible to do it easily?

No, there isn't a way, yet!
But in future, mudlord, will probably insert a way to load jabo 1.7 textures with rice, I promise!

This sounds more like you are using other peoples work for your own gains.

As for porting between the two even if you had a nifty tool to make all the mixing and matching easier. It would not be easy. Namely the file identifications are different (IE CRC/MD5 checks are different).

mudlord and Jabo discussed it, and it's not possible to use a direct translation, simply because they use different methods to dump the data so the CRC and MD5 values will always be different. In summary you will have to take EVERY dumped file from Rice's and match it to the dumped files from Jabo's that is the only way.

Aren't most Jabo Texture packs just converted Rice texture packs anyways?

AFAIK, Jabo ported those packs manually, with help from Gent and the other alpha testers.
