Wasn't Max payne a load of shit? Who could of designed such a predictable story line with a see through character that everyone knows?

Anyone even heard of shenmue 2?

i agree GT3 was a letdown, specially since i spent £280 to play the damn game... bah! thank god for GTA3 and MGS2... but i digress...

overrated... ALL FIFAS, for christs sake why must everyone love those games? its not so bad now but a couple of years ago (fifa 98/99 transition) EVERYBODY loves those games and i was cheering for sega's swws97... i also thought half life, while good on the storyline front (and i mean VERY good), was a bitch to play... FPS' just arent cut out for jumping and sneaking (well halflife wasnt anyways)

underrated: NiGHTS, sure the critics loved it, but how many of you have actually played the game beyond the first level for either character? how many of you have strived to get that 100+ link with a superb combo? not sound familiar? then you havent lived! there are a number of gems on the saturn that people missed... darn it:(

ok, why the hell am i the only one who thinks that Halo was overrated.
the graphics just dont seem that impressive, only moving at 20-30fps, were as most games should easily move at 60-70fps on that hardware . (plus i think the weapons suck and you can only eqip like 2, there's just more fun to have playing deathmatch Doom II on Win95)
i just dont see why microsoft spent so much money promoting that game when they didnt even have the chance to finish it.

i agree, the whole system was underrated.
i think the saturn owned, its prolly my most played console to date.
shining force 3 deserved alot more respect.
and it was a good system for porting cps-2 & SNK arcades expecially with Mr. 4 MEG ram cart.

fifa 98 to be honest kicked ass. then it went downhill, the games stopped developing.

uh yeah, one more overrated: final fantasy! never understood the craze about those games. ok, they are good but square could sell blank cds as long as they write 'ff' on the box... :plain2:

Soul Calibur is overrated. Yeah, it`s fun and it`s a nice game, but there`s no way in hell that it deserves the perfect scores it got in almost every review site. Same applies to the Tekken games.
Underrated : Samurai Showdown 3, Garou mark of the wolves, and System Shock 2 (prolly THE most underrated game ever).

yes it was. its because of the test demo they released before the actual game. I found that demo to be very addictive. (must have spent 50+ hours on that 1 map) The retail was quite a letdown :(

IMO, Bejeweled is very overrated. is there anything that it does that Tetris Attack didnt do on SNES?

MAX PAYNE WAS NOT A LETDOWN, the game was pretty good, unique, and new. fresh. The story was good, i liked the speech and the voice acting alot, the only problem i found was no netplay, oh and the short story and gay ending

watch as I agree with 2fast4u

BLACK and WHITE was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO over rated and a waste of my money that's why i took it back. (but i kept the pic for my avtar)
UnderRated would have to be Terranigma. Great Action RPG for the SNES with a GREAT story. as good as a regular RPG story would be. I dont even know if it was released in the us but i played it for the first time on Zsnes and crapped my pants when i was done. UP THERE WITH ZELDA TITLES!!!

/me slapping eddy around

Get a hold of yourself man! a good story?! I could make a better story by going to the zoo and telling you how sexy i think the giraffes neck's are! Thats how pointless that story was, everytime there was a cutscene i just kept clicking past it. VOICE ACTING?! wtf?! Terrbile descriptions, it was trying to be a book inside of a shoot'em up "cool techonlogy" game. It was very fun graphics and stuff, other than that it disgusted me...

Definitly underrated FF8, had a great score, extremely in-depth storyline, WHY don't the ff games ever put actual digital remastered themes in full orchastras in the actual game-play, i guess we'll never know!:)

Shenmue 2 again is really underrated for right now, until its release on the overrated system(x-box) you guys will only know till it comes out on that;)

Symphony of the night was the best game of all time (besides super Metroid), how could it be underrated?
i thought FF8 was one of the best too, the junction system was one of squares best creations yet. too bad most people were way too stupid to understand it (what a bunch of dumb asses:plain2: ).

the draw system was easy and addicting, once you have the right balance of gf's equip it aint hard to draw 9 spells every time.
its a pretty fun task for character development.

u guys, there is no such thing as an under-rated Final Fantasy (im talking about the main series). Come on, dont u remember the huge hype when FF7 came out, and the hype that FF8 got from FF7? The only one that can be considered underrated (compared to the others) would be FF9. Many people who only played FF7 and up considered it bad because of the midgets.

i remember the crap hype that ff8 got because people were too incompatible to adapt to something as "so called" confusing as the junction system. people bashed that game on every forum i can think of.

I liked B&W too. It was different. I'm kinda getting sick of FPS and RTS. All the games produced today are copies of other games with a little bit of difference. B&W had something new. Hand signaling for spells, Having a civilization without direct control over the individuals. I thought it was neat.

Sega Bass Fishing. Possibly the funniest party tournament type game ever.
Other than that, Killer Instinct on the SNES. The first, and only game to ever give me thumb blisters from pulling off 100+ hit combo`s. (Such a great trick...)

I was actculally talking about how much it sucked and how i only played it for an hour before i just started smaking the monkey (in the game people dont get me twisted) casue he was throwing people around when i started killing people on accident. that game was annoying. i kept trying to be a good guy and the guy from my avtar kept telling me i was evil and i had just killed someone.

adi
April 24th, 2002, 23:04
hahah my monkey was rated 1.00 by the game, basically angelic but my temple was all evil. i found it really compelling for a while and once I got into it it was good, but it had waay too many flaws to make me wanna keep playing. i remember once i had to use the bookmark key about 50 times so I could get wood. playing it began to feel like working after a while
