Just talked to Martin about the possiblity to host our own Kaillera server here at Emulation64.com. This way you could find many people playing Nemu64 and Jnes located at one server instead of hunting down a fellow emutalk member on one distant czech server :satisfied

So, my question is as follows: Is there any interest for a service like this? Would you use it?

The server would be located in the US, so I dunno about ping for us Europeans, but that we'll see later...

martin that would be seriously cool, i mean, seriously cool. We need a good kaillera server. I know that at least I would use it heavily, i love online play, and then with emulators its just all the better. So my vote goes to it. Good luck!

As mike is hinting, the server is now online! I'll announce this at Emu64 to get some attention and some great games going. =)

I love this :D But one problem....people wouldn't want to play against people with slow comps would they? Like me for example who get about 40-55 V/Is during gameplay in most games. That is what I gete while playing online...(only played once tho)...I dont know if it was because of the server but I guess I can try this server out ^^

For those of you who want to update the client of Nemu 0.8:

1. Go to http://www.kaillera.com

2. Download the latest SDK (Yes! the SDK )

3. Open it and unzip the .dll in you Nemu 0.8 folder

Congratulations. Now you have the latest Kaillera client.

Why the SDK? Because if you aren't going to use MAME, the 32 KB download is more than enough and includes the client dll.

I use 0.9 in Nemu 0.8 with this method and is flawless. :n64:

Maybe it's down, I haven't seen it for more than a week. Martin, could you please update us on the status?

Sometimes it goes down daily, sometimes it's up for a week with no problems. It is most likely due to bad/unstable coding of the kaillera server client, I see no other reason why it would go down on a dedicated server hardly being used except for this purpose.

I start it when I see it being down, but I don't sit babywatching it 24/7.

Alright, thanks. I was just a little worried after it was down for like a week. Anyway its back up. I don't expect you to baby-sit it, you run a nice site, not to mention you're on a differnt continent than the server.

I've now turned logging off for the server, not that logging should cause the kaillera server to crash but something evidently has. Let's hope it stays up now. :)

location and connection type affect the ping. What is your connection? there are plenty of servers in the UK just not emulation64

Try the server "_Wise_'s Place", it's popular and in Europe.

Our own Kaillera server is now down/dead/removed. Can't promise it'll be back.

I've got a Kaillera server online. It's usually rated pretty high in the Kaillera tracker so you'll be lucky to get in as it's usually full.

Ok, i know nothing about n64 online but i have a couple of emulaters with this online thing.

Anyway i tried to look for Goldeneye and Mario Kart but there was only average games like some game called fight night or something and also street fighter 2.

i dunno how u make it so difficult urself. go to the kallera homepage download the server version and setup ur own server, its pretty easy. For questions about running the server behind a router or a firewall, look at my guide there u will find the answer :)
