This is my system specs

Windows ME
pentium 4 1.8 ghz
Geforce 4 ti4200
512MB ram

the version of P64 i'm using is 1.5

i jus started playing and everything is smooth so far, however i experience problems when the day goes on to the next day. the screen will turn black and the frame rate drops from 60 to 20 and the sound becomes very choppy, after a longgggg while, finally it will return to normal when the screen draws the next day, DAWN OF DAY II... blah blah can someone tell me how to solve this?
thanks

There is no real way to solve this, you can play the double song of time to skip it. The Glide64 plugin will be the first to solve this issue (at least display the effect, might still be a bit slow), and I believe more plugins will follow. I believe its a framebuffer effect and some of these can cripple even high spec PCs.

If you look in the game compatibility faq it says this problem can be fixed by turning off "advanced block linking" in the advanced rom settings. you have a fast system so you shouldnt have to worry about a performance drop because of it.

Glide64 has already fixed it...the effect doesn't happen, but neither does the screen going black.

These effects are relatively easy to implement. It's hard (impossible?) to implement efficiently. citation from PJ64 FAQ:
"no motion blur effect - this was removed because the performance hit due to the way the framebuffer was used was so serious".
Performance hit is about 50% with Glide64.

That's also a known issue. Glide64 works with that, too (it's the best AFAIK for Majora's Mask if only it had framebuffer - hint hint.)

You can download Glide64 either at Glide64's homepage (don't know the URL offhand - a simple google search will yield it,) or in the downloads section of this very site. You also NEED eVoodoo, a wrapper that makes Glide64's Glide (voodoo) interface work with DirectX, and can download it on Glide64's website or once again, the downloads section of this site (or the eVoodoo forum.) You want Glide64 4.2 (I think that's the newest) and eVoodoo 3.99. You must put eVoodoo's .DLL file (the .DLL in the eVoodoo zip file) either in /windows/system32 or in your emulator's main directory (not the plugin directory,) or you will get a "Glide3x.dll not found" error when trying to start emulation with Glide64 as your GFX plugin.
