XP Home and Professional

What are the differences between the two variations of XP to warrant almost double the cost? I've seen no differences in the actual OS features, so what extra stuff does Professional have over the Home Edition?

I have Home on my current PC and Professional on my old PC.

Thanks.

?????????????????????????
One thing i know is that home doesn't support multiple monitors i think...the other most features are security-wise.

Thanks Trotterwatch. Looking at the comparison, I believe for my purposes I made the right choice.

I can confirm multi monitor support for XP Home. Running two screens at work using an on-board ATI and secondary GF4 MX.

Home comes with scaled down networking capabilities, not sure on what profound level though... Btw, which one did you choose?

They forgot to mention that home has ipsec removed. The sad thing in all of this, is that these "extra" features shouldn't realy be considered to be "professional" features, as most other OSes include them with all packages. The underlying code to do all of this is still present in the home version, its just hardcoded to be disabled.

There's also no multiprocessor support in Home, with the sole exception of Hyper-Threading (special case of MP).
