I guess (I'm running Gentoo Linux and Windows sucks, but it still has the best 3d accelleration ;)) but it won't be the big problem compile and port the code for the i386 Linux Kernel.

I'd hate to rain on everyone's parade but this indeed appears as another hoax/fake. Just take a look at the startling discovery made by refraction:

http://forums.ngemu.com/emulation-news-submissions/102089-xeon-ps2-emulator-wip.html

I don't know why it took everyone so long to figure out it was a fake because I was suspicious from the start and knew it was a fake after reading the op's post.

I think this should be locked until a release or the source is made public so we can verify if it is a fake or indeed legit.

For now all it is nothing more than hearsay and some screens of an alleged PS2 emulator which are most likely shopped fakes.

I'm always suspicious, but I can't be arsed to do the research and prove it (that's where you folks come in). :p

I'll leave it open for now. This is usually where things get interesting...

Yeah, just keep it open. I know I like the lulz it creates when fake emus pop up

Or your friend Refraction is mad because there's a new PS2 emulator

What are you talking about? I think you just want too see the code or a release. Forget about the sourcecode until there's no release. If you don't believe just be happy enjoying pokemon on GBA emulators and let us do our hard work!

If you've spent any time in the emulation community, you know that every author goes through this, especially if they make an announcement without code to show for it. If you're legit you roll with the punches and keep going. Your response leads me to believe that the naysayers are correct.

I don't know why every author must go through this. Why people can't just be happy see a new emulator. We don't wanna money or something for our work - we just code for fun and a good reason. So please, believe us or not but we don't have any reasons to punk you.

Mainly the total lack of technical language:

- Version number is strange
- Lack of ps2 correct terms
- Total lack of any technical information
- Obvious resemblances to the open-source PS2 emulator PCSX2
- Time stamps are unreasonable by that kind of project

I mean, it's not like a bunch of really good coders couldn't create such an advanced emulator, but they wouldn't do ANY of the above mistakes. That's were all the "suspicions" come from :p

We're happy to see a new emulator, but the proof is in the pudding. When a new member joins and starts touting his program without proof (screenshots don't count) of course we're going to be sceptical. Dozens of fakes have come and gone, and the pattern is almost always the same. Don't let any of this dissuade you. If your emulator is the real deal, continue working on it, release it, and make us eat crow (we like crow). :)

Ok. Indeed we looked in the code of PCSX2 but we don't took any code-passages of it. If we do, we will give credit - you will see it in the sourcecode release anyway.

And just don't say it looks like other emulators - every emulator functions similar. There's an emulation part, an system and configuration part and sometimes a BIOS conf.

We will look forward to present you a function video with booting games when we finish the graphics' problem while rendering higher GFX effects.

Seeya later. Xeon.

Mmh... no plugins, just a small binary, the forum was closed... looks fake to me and I won't try it. Can someone try it in a VM?

It's no fake.

We closed the forums because of webspace problems.

We will work hard to present you the xeon 0.5 this week.

Enjoy.

Sorry, we couldn't include the sound plugin because all people started look sceptic about our project. So we released an open beta. The graphics plugin is written in the binary because we don't want that anyone can use third-party plugins. Without Plugins it's all easier.
