Winndows XP Boot Screen

I heard that you can change the WinXP boot screen. Is that true?

Yes, in a fashion similar to Win2k. The process isn't as straight-forward as with Win9x, but it's not difficult either. Search around, I remember seeing sites with instructions and boot logos for XP.

If anyone's interested this site has everything you need for Win2k.

The best program for changing your WinXP bootscreen is BootXP. Remember to use this program with great caution though as it changes your boot.ini file. You could end up with startup problems. Although one advantage to this program is that if you run into any serious problems you can always startup using the backup line that the program creates. A good resource for downloading bootscreens is ThemeXP.
