Ok, I just set up my a new system for my mom and everything was ok, but then this dumb error popped up when I tried uninstalling some programs and also trying to install programs. It worked before, but it almost seemed like this error came out of nowhere. Any idea?

i dunno what it may be, upgrade to messenger 6,or use one of those weird-ass tweakers that can remove things like IE and Outlook

It's not just Microsoft products. That's just an example of the error. I get that same error message each time except a different program name in the title bar depending on the program.

Hi,

Do you have seperate users for logging on.
That sounds like your trying to install and uninstall programs and you dont have the administrative power to do so , try to log on as administrator it should have asked you this when you installed and asked if you wanted to give a password for it . try to log off windows and log back in see if it asks for password .
also you can try to install /uninstall in safe mode.read up on power users may help.

I could be wrong about this i dont have seperate
users for mine I am the admin for mine and it logs me
in as default every time.

I do have multiple users on it, but I logged in as the admin. I don't even know what file/folder it is looking for. I'm gonna try installing some different programs today and see if the error persists for everything.

Always try searching Microsoft's Knowledge Base *before* posting to any newsgroups, forums, etc.

Try <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315352">this Knowledge Base article</a> [microsoft.com] for help.
