Yes, the final version is released.

Is not a very important new for you guys, but I posted to take the oportunity to ask something about messenger. A friend of mine claimed to made a program to freeze other people messenger clients, and it works! I first thought it was a exploit in the final version and encouraged to try it when I opened the old windows messenger 4.7 but it also worked. What's he doing? I googled for it without results, and I can't figure out the trick, I just want revenge!

Tried setting up a "packet sniffer" and asking him to exploit you? That might help a very little bit.

one time I tried to send my friend a 3.2 GB zip file via AIM file transfer, to be funny, and to see what would actually happen. It froze up AIM, and I had to terminate the process through task manager.

@sethmcdoogle

It seems he's flooding the messenger client with smileys, yes you read it well, with smileys. I tried to do that but nothing happened? He must have some sort of patch for Messenger or something to send that quantity. I attach the wireshark file if you want to check out...

I don't know a great deal about the format of msn messages so I'm not sure the file will be of any use, though I'll poke around and see. I only have MSN Messenger 7.5 (and Windows Messenger 4.7 built-in with XP).

EDIT: You could send a bug report to microsoft with the file you attached here (so long as nothing personal is in the dump you do not wish to be disclosed) and tell them it was captured with wireshark and that they would find it beneficial to examine the file and fix the issue.
