Could some one please post me the settings under the
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors]

key in the windowsxp registry?

you can post any other appearance settings here.

These Color Settings change the colors of the windows desktop and background.

I should have put screenshots with mine but here are 5 of them.

I want to see if I can get my desktop to have similiar colors as winxp's a green start button etc...

To get it all you do is highlight the key in the registry

then go to registry--> export registry file.
then you could save it to your desktop and send the file here...
thanks

enclose is a post of the skyblue 95/98/me desktop appearance. I don't know if it will work for XP

The shell for windows 98 will not support doing what you are attempting. Besides, if you look how these are laid out, it would seem that it's easy to manualy change the color, which is what you should be attempting to do if anything. I haven't ever looked at these before, but I can practicaly reverse engineer the layout in my head on the spot because it's so simple. Take this for example:

"Background"="127 127 127"

That probably indicates that your desktop color is set to a medium grey color. That is of course under the assumption that the color values are 127 red, 127 green, and 127 blue, which is the typical color order. If the start button can have its own color in 98, you would probably see an applicable entry for such. It's color values would then be set for 0 255 0, or if thats too bright of a green, play with the other values until you get it right.

If you want to try a better shell for any microsoft OS, try aston.

You can also use 98lite preview edition with aston and 98 for more speed!

The Appearances are still useful!

Have you tried xteq Explorer Launchpad,

it makes it easier to get to folders?
