StyleXP things request

I just tested VistaCG style theme and it rocks, not just for the good job of emulating the Vista's non aero look, it just looks very good.
However I want a Vista icon set, and a vista explorer bar for Style XP. I know there are a lot of Vista icon sets around, but I want very good ones, and the most important thing, is that they should be StyleXP compatible (they are usually zip files but when I try to load them with StyleXP, it gives me and error message telling me that is not compatible or something like that)
That's the thing, I hope you guys can find something (whoa, another vista related thread, I know :p)

stylexp does use more resources than a simple modified uxtheme.dll, but stylexp does more, such as the logon screen and the boot screen, as to icons, I believe most work with icon packager

Indeed. Use the uxtheme patch, use Styler Toolbar (or Y'Z Toolbar) to change the explorer toolbar buttons, iconpackager and be happy. ;)

Btw, Window Blinds 5 is a very good idea as well. I can say by my own experience that it doesn't consume much of system resources, besides that the skins are alot more useful and prettier than simple VS ones. :)

If you don't remember them how are you gonna e-mail them to me yegosimo? :O

OK, I guess you are right guys, anyway I can mount the VistaCG theme very easy using the uxtheme patch. However any recomendations of what vista toolbar set should I use for Y'Z or Styler Toolbar? there are hunreds of packs, and I really want a good one, that goes for the icon set for the iconpackager too. Any help would be appreciated

Edit: I didn't expect Y'Z toolbar to run as a background processes suckin 5.5 mb of RAM, so now the question is, where I can download styler toolbar? I tried to google for it without results

Some other alternatives might be Rocket Dock, rk-launcher, mobydock, avedesk, and desktop sidebar. I couldn't track down styler toolbar myself.

as far as i can tell the links are "safe" for emutalk posting. if not it is accidental and please remove ;)

There's also konfabulator/yahoo widgets, kapsules, and samurize...

There's an option in StyleXP to use as little system resources as possible which cuts out a lot of those options.

I don't get it - why do people these days care (unless they have a very bad system) about memory usage? With today's computers (and a well built machine), it doesn't matter.

I disagree, sometimes when mutitasking, a clean computer with a low memory usage on the desktop makes a difference.

I disagree - if you have a good harddisk, it does not matter. It has never mattered to me. I have never had side effects just because I'm using programs with large memory overhead.

Hmm..I´ll test my machine with heavy multitasking and post later, but not now, now it is Brazil vs Croatia, see ya´!

Not really, wothout opening a game, i could only hog 355 meg, on a universe of 2 gig, it was not all the imapct i believed it to be.

Yes, it matters. I play World of Warcraft, which will take up as much memory as available. WoW itself never reaches into virtual memory, but it can displace background programs into it. Since I Alt-Tab quite often, I do notice the other programs coming out of virtual memory into RAM, resulting in lots of hard drive thrashing. The less memory it takes up in the first place, the less time this takes, therefore more happyfuntime++.

I go with you, if you have memory, waste it. ;)
I hate StyleXP simply because the excess of crap, and the worst - ugly crap. Today I run my WinXP with WB5 and Styler Toolbar. Window Blinds have a lot more useful features than simple VS - Styler Toolbar is also Windows XP tweaker tool - Iconpackager is not necessary, 'sides there are a lot of softwares that do better work IMO. And I have 512MB. No lags, no slowdowns. :)

'Bout Sidebars... I prefer docks. ;) (Tho the Vista "faded-effect" sidebar is very sexy.)
